Tickets & travel: Bradford away

Tickets were £25 for away/home fans - and the club have reduced them when purchased in advance. This seemingly, has confused some of your fans as it appears that we're taking advantage; when infact Vale haven requested a sufficient enough amount of tickets well in advance.

I believe for whatever reason the £25 pay on the day was not made known until recently so a significant number planned to pay on the day thinking that it would be £20. So when the £25 figure came out demand for advance tickets went up to perhaps more than would have been expected

if I was running BC I'd give Vale fans tickets for free!!! :)

Soley, as a response to that last paragraph, Vale as a club know your support better than what we do, so it does beg the question as to why they didn't request more tickets.

This has only become an issue 2 days before the game itself - if you were running BCAFC, would you just send tickets across willi-nilli when the opposition fans have had weeks to purchase.

I'm gonna be biast on this occasion and suggests it's your own fault.

So we really requested 160 odd extra tickets?

I call bull ****. The price hike is a joke. Shame on Bradford, blatantly trying to rip away fans off.

On the BCFC website it states that tickets are £25 but up until 5 pm on the day before match day they are priced at £20.Is it possible to buy tickets over the phone for the away end?If not then Vale fans have not been able to buy £20 tickets over the last two days.

Is it still the case that away clubs selling tickets at their own ground take a % of the sale, where as any sales at the ground on the day, goes 100% to that club?

If so, Bradford's approach here becomes quite clear. By charging for unsold tickets (even though they wouldn't sell the unsold allocation to home fans) they force Vale into a risky decision. Vale have therefore clearly made a financial decision based on the risk of losing money, Smurf wouldn't sleep for a month if he lost £20, never mind a few grand.

Limiting the supply of cheaper tickets, then imposing a 25% increase in match day sales, leads to more money for Bradford. It's a clear tactic that they've imposed here, and unfortunately will result in a reduced number of Vale fans travelling.
