It looks like he's unlikely to be going to Northampton. Whatever the truth of the "derisory", "pathetic" offer and whatever the truth of as Northampton states "the over-inflated price PV are asking" I am more concerned why Anthony Grant has asked to go in the first place. Is it just because Rob Page has 'tapped him up' or is there a deeper seated problem at Vale Park with the new management/players set-up? I personally hope it's the former and not the latter!

I can only wish Granty stays, the best player at the club and I would hate to loose him. He was the glue of the team last season and he could very well play that role this season.

Just like that? He has publically said he expects to get ALL his money back on a sale. His sale price without the ground was testimony to this, he didn't sell. If it all goes wrong, as you say, PVFC is ******, simple as. As for fans not coming through the gates, the gates are not disimiliar to historical levels, why did he expect thousands more? Seems he didn't do his due diligence very well but no doubt that will be someone elses fault. I would prefer the club to be run professionally and sustainably, it is neither at the minute.

Changes in management, coaches and players on this scale are bound to be unsettling to the existing players. As long as the intentions are explained, only actions and time will smooth things and at the same time keep everyone on their toes. Agents have their uses but stability is not one of their priorities. Upto Norman and Bruno to make players feel wanted, fans can do their bit as well.

Our very major debt is to Mr Smurthwaite, rather than the council. Could you see Mr Smurthwaite being as accommodating as the council were writing off our debt?

I hope they've told Grant to knuckle down, have a brilliant season and perhaps set his (ie. his agent) sights a little higher than Northampton... and even Vale.

It's no surprise really. At his best he could play in the Championship though he's limited in some ways and a little bit inconsistent.

But the agent has done his job. His transfer request has been splashed all over the BBC sports pages and no doubt a wealthy League One club will now sign him before the season starts.
