Thank you Bon'Ami - looking forward to spending time with our eldest, beautiful granddaughter

Overall this topic thread has been more circumspective - even sanguine - in mood than one of outraged indignation.

As the saying goes...'The King is dead; long live the King' :D

The king is very much alive and still making godawful decisions. We are in the brown stuff.

of course I could, thinking back to when I worked for some of the most useless barstewards that ever drew breath if browny was like me he could work for any count.

Its a job... when I was young, if the money is right, I would work up to my chin in excrement.. but.. I wouldnt trust smurf not to make a wave... so I wouldnt work under those conditions with smurf at any price.

Really as bad as it gets ... new manager coming who doesn't know the players, probably doesn't want half of them and had no time to plan recruitment. Don't blame Page, he's probably been offered a decent budget to work with and decided that suits him better. He can probably just switch his planned recruitment. Not too bothered if we bring in an experienced manager or someone new to it. Any experienced manager we can afford will have failed somewhere else, so will be a gamble. I'm in no position to judge Brown's potential to manage.

According to the Northampton local rag, looks like Page has applied for the job - has he had words with Smurf?

"Town chairman Kelvin Thomas this week confirmed the club had received ‘a lot of applications’ for the Cobblers job, but it seems Page has impressed the most out of all those that tried to get the job."

I'm not overly bothered about Page leaving. The football was bland and boring. He wanted to build a team around Louis Dodds. Away days were a waste of time. We've lost 4-0 and 5-0 at home this season.

The crucial thing now is getting a decent replacement in. There are a lot of good out of work managers around so we shouldn't worry.
