When are we going to do something to stop the spread of this vermin?

 

They are on the verge of destroying one of the wonders of civilisation, never mind the ghastly and barbaric treatment they've dished out to human beings.

This is similar behaviour to that by the Taliban when they destroyed the Buddha statues in the Hindu Kush. It is senseless vandalism and totally irrational behaviour. In my opinion, senseless and irrational describes all the behaviour of this group, along with cruel and evil.

The spread of Islam and the associated atrocities have been ongoing for the last 1300 years and more, the west appears powerless to stop it prefering a policy of appeasement which simply will not work with this ideology. The USA and particularly Europe need to start at home with much tougher policies to prevent the further spread of Islam. Saudi Arabia should take the lead role in the middle east to generate resistance to and ultimately defeat isis.

I was booked to go to Palmyra in 2011 but cancelled once this all kicked off. I hope there is still something there after all this has finished.

From what I read, even the Taliban think these lads are too extreme and won't touch them with a barge pole.

But followers of one religion are still murdering masses of people in 2015 in the name of god and to further its ideology whereas most of the others have by and large ceased.
