Micky to sign

You questioned the facts stated by adams and smurf by quoting jungle drums?

One mans crazy is another mans sanity... adams to me has questionable sanity... as someone has already stated his ethos of "them and us" puts the fans as "them"

I did no such thing, I replied to another poster with a play on the jungle aspect of the country which I love in which you reside :)

I find how people treat (what they say about) people that bring the club so much success like Adams and like Rudge since he joined Stoke bewildering particularly when in the the same position every single person would do the same thing.

The post you replied to questioned the facts of the statements... as for the jungle its a bit too populated at the moment with martial law imposed.

I dont see the "so much success" Rudge yes but adams got promoted from division 4 to 3... its what we do or did in the past on a regular basis, its not earth shattering... like Ive said... adams will do what adams needs to do for him... just like I would and most other people would, I have no problem with that... its the playing it out in the media that beggers it up.

I may be moving to a healthier climate soon... martial law isnt a good sign, even here where it happens quite regularly.

'Micky Adams is a better manager than port vale deserve' the words of smurf. He knows how to make the fans happy.

I thought it was a lovely thing for him to say.

I'd love to know what sort manager he thinks we all actually deserve.

By the way, the Sentinel article has him saying that the contract was "passed it to his solicitor to review" on April 28th which is a lot longer (eighteen working days) than "ten days" even allowing for holidays and the like.

Link: http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Port-Vale-Adams-decided-Port-Vale-stay-10-days/story-21045778-detail/story.html

I have no problem with him taking his time. But if he wanted to make sure everything was OK with a lawyer then:

a. Don't come up with a deadline which is unrealistic

b. Why not speak to the press last week and say his lawyer was "away" and quell the "conspiracy theories"?

But I don't have a problem with him taking his time (he should have been offered the contract earlier) but what I do have a problem with is him moaning about speculation while he takes his time.

He says he's a "free agent" and "other people want to talk to me" (direct quotes made by him to the press) and then calls it "conspiracy theories" when fans (who care about the club) wonder who those "people" could be.

He could have avoided this by simply not having a dig and concentrating on the positive things - he is set to sign a contract, he is happy at the club, he's looking forward to the new season etc...

p.s. I'll still be delighted when/if he signs up (and that's not a conspiracy theory)...

Spot on.

Not read the thread but personally i think it would be nice if instead of any 'i told you so's' which i am sure will have been posted, lets all join together and celebrate thetclub is continuing to move further and further away from the dark days guided by a quality Manager and a Chairman who has publicly accepted making mistakes but is now making some excellent decisions like the various ticket offers. Lets all move onwards and upwards with the mighty Vale.

Great news btw, never thought he'd leave after the experience he had a Sheffield and most think he's the best manager we've had in a very long time.

I thought the comments in the article to that point were good, but when I read the above, it made my blood boil! Smurf, why say things like that!!!???

You could have said: he's been a great manager for this club and with his stock and Port Vales reputation growing as a force to be reckoned with, it's a match made in heaven! We have a great fanbase here at Port Vale and we're collectively going to try and better last seasons success on the pitch.... Then call upon the fans to get right behind the whole club on match days!

Really cheeses people off! We're not little old Port Vale anymore! Do you think the Gills manager says that about having Peter Taylor? I think not!

Onwards and upwards! Go orn' the Vale!

A bit negative don't you think.

Firstly don't always believe what the press said that Mick had said and even if he did say I will decide in ten days he may well have done exactly that. Did he say he would tell OVF that he was signing?

He may well have decided in this time and then passed the contract to his solicitors to be vetted.

If there are conspiracy theorists lets not fuel the fire and give the man the courtesy of the time he needs to come to and to confirm his decision!

I genuinely believe it is the best interest of PVFC and Mr Adams for him to stay at the club and for the excellent work of the last two seasons to continue!

Exactly!!!!! 100%!!!!

Some of the utter garbage spouted on this thread by many people is hilarious! He said he'd make his decision in ten days. He didn't say 'In 10 days, I'll publically announced my intentions, go to The Sentinel, use the official website and various other media outlets etc..', did he? He had a break away, attended his daughter's wedding amongst other things, and has decided during the rest of the time between now and the end of the season, so what's the big deal? Far too many people always competing on here to be right and wrong, constantly belittling others for their opinions if it doesn't match theirs, and the usual suspects talking down to people, having a dig at Micky Adams, or generally trying to show off and act as if they're the mouthpiece for all Vale fans (which they're evidently not!)

We all have opinions, but at least have the decency to accept others have differing ones from time to time, hey? Instead of turning what is a very, very good piece of news into a slanging match and an argument, both of which are unnecessary and take the focus away from the main subject.

Mr Adams can hardly moan about "conspiracy" when he told the press (he doesn't have to say these things to the press) that he would decide within ten days and then doesn't.

He'd have to be really thick not to know that fans who love this club would be concerned (as they are not to know he and his solicitor are off on holiday) when he doesn't meet that deadline and announce a decision.

He'd also be pretty dumb not to realise that the media will produce stories to sell papers (some based on bookmaker odds that are not made up from thin air) about links to other clubs when he himself has linked himself to by talking to the press (again something he didn't have to do).

I think he's a good manager and I hope he stays but there's a difference between being a good football manager and someone who's right on every other matter. In my view, all this passive-aggressive stuff he constantly comes out with is just utter rubbish.

It's never his fault when he's the one talking to the press about his options and coming up with deadlines he doesn't stick to.

I'll be delighted if/when he signs but labeling fans as "conspiracy theorists" is a bit rich when he himself linked himself with other clubs. He's entitled to link himself but he's not entitled to get upset when others link him after he unsettles things. It's the pot calling the kettle black, I feel.

Well summed up
