There is plenty of activity from other L1 clubs who are strengthening their squad. Makes me a bit envious thinking that Smurf won't introduce a couple of quality players.

As much as Smurf says this and that I do actually think we will see a couple of new faces this month,that is if the fair play rules allow of course.

That's my thought too, he did say in the interview at the start if Micky wanted someone they would discuss it.

There may be ways and means of facilitating a new player or two.

They could be on loan with their own clubs paying most of their wages.

Hughes has gone and I can see another 1-2 possibly also departing to make a bit of space in the squad. I won't name the ones I think we can manage without but everyone can see that we do still have 3-4 lads who don't add a great deal to the first team and could go.

Third - don't laugh - but if we win in the replay that will provide us with more money.

 

I'm not entirely ruling it out, although personally I think we might need 3-4 players not 1-2 to make an impact on the top clubs./

There have been a few players hanging on in there for a few seasons now. Whilst they may occasionally contribute with a goal/good game, they are not contributing enough to merit a wage, IMO. Maybe its time for MA to bite the bullet and try to ship them out and bring in some 'better' players.
