This is funny. According to this twitter feed were in for Kevin De Bruyne, Juan Mata is off to Forest and Oxford are looking at Franck Ribery

To be fair, Jose has said today that Mata won't go to another premiership club so is likely to make the move to the Vale. I also hear Joleon Lescott is looking for game time in the run up to the world cup so is looking for a loan move away from city and Vale could be just the ticket for him. We'll solve both positions with real quality... Although I'm not sure if Mata will handle the rough and tumble of a derby game against Crewe...

Go orn' Smurf, get some sweet taking done... In the words of the other famous Elvis song - It's now or never..... Give it to us!

Sweetie jars again

Smurf just to cut his costs right now will be surprised if we see any one signing this season.

Bore off will you. This should be a positive thread, over achieving in the league and the manager is contemplating 2 'quality' signings, always have the same memebers who bring the threads down!

This will be a serious indication of where smurfs ambition is for port vale right now. Fair play he invested heavily to bring lee hughes in last year he was a big money earner by our standards. Does he commit and get a couple of players to get us a few big cup gates and some big play off gates possibly v wolves or does he simply leave it as is. We have a big big opportunity right now.

For me it's a pivotal moment in smurfs ownership.

agree totally also does smurfs ambition match that of some of our influential players who we would like to keep i.e. Lines and more importantly M A

It'll be interesting to see if Adams and NS are on the same page.

how many times do they publicly need to indicate they get on really well? Every Manager in the world wants unlimited transfer funds but they also know this will never happen. If we get through against Plymouth and get a plum draw, then there would be a case to bring a couple of quality signings in without damaging the clubs finances too much

I think I see things a lot differently from most posters.

The Lee Hughes departure is a convenient, amicable situation that has arisen through the realisation from both parties that our squad is good enough without him. All I see it doing is trimming 50k from the wage bill from here til the end of the season. Given the opportunity (and I suspect this will happen in June) I'd like to see us offloading 3/4 more players who are happily collecting 2k/week yet rarely featuring. If we keep the core of the squad together I don't see the clamour for signing more costly, experienced pros. We've seen that this league isn't as tough as we all thought and that when given a chance the youngsters are ready to step up. I'm hoping Hugill and Johnson have paved the way for 2 or 3 others to come from the development squad and be akin to new signings. If not, what's the point in the development squad?
