Are two quality players on there way to VP for assault on the playoffs?

I don't get the idea of the Smurf - Micky row. MA the manager wants extra players (don't they always) and we have not got any money. Like people are saying if we free up some of the wage budget brilliant he may be able to sign someone. But whatever happens I think we have had a brilliant start to the season. If we really cannot afford to sign the extra quality to push up the league then fair enough!!! MA is doing a super job with what he has got.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Taylor has been a right asset the past few months.

Maybe we'll go for a couple of cheap loanees? Defence surely?

I think one thing that will go in Taylors favour is that he can play in a couple of positions and I am not sure if Mohammed can.

Yates is performing at 110% and is an average player for me his delivery is pretty terrible and makes a lot of mistakes on the ball he's not a **** player but we could do with better if we want to press on

Agreed, I would go for a centre half (maybe Michael Hector) and a right back. It's the defence that has the major problems.

Wasn't Michael Hector a rumour in the summer? looking at him he looks like just what we lack, around 6'4 with pace.

I have looked at 1 or 2 teams in the Championship.

Defenders include Bobby Hassell at Barnsley (33) CB,

Paddy McCourt at Barnsley winger or forward,

Sean St Ledger CB at Leicester, Zak Whitbread CB on loan from Leicester to Derby but not in team,

Giles Coke CM at Sheff W on loan at Swindon but not in team

Bobby Grant forward/winger at Blackpool-may be injured?

I always liked Jamie deVitt & Jay O'Shea both at Chesterfield & not in team.

I am sure Micky is looking at players but why not go to Leicester, one of his old clubs-we played them in pre season......

Great minds, I suggested Hector earlier, he is/was on loan at Aberdeen and wants to go back to Reading but surely a move to arguably a better standard of football in general and a move a damn sight closer to the Thames region would be a winner?? :)

It is amazing to see how many of our members see any news positive or negative as a chance to vent their spleen against some of our players, normally without seeing them or at least watching them. If we are able to bring someone in, I hope it is a young player from a lower league who is capable of improvement and not a short term signing of a player on the way down or out.

Little al we made a short term on his way down signings last year and they got us promoted. Sod the signing of young kids get championship experience experience in.
But last year promotion was necessary, and a gamble paid off. This year a shot at the POs maintains interest through the season and possibly improves gates. It tests our players and any new/loan players we bring in, as suitable for progress in future seasons. Of course should we reach the POs the chance has to be taken and anything can happen.
