Pete Tindall.....RIP.

So so tragic. I couldn't put a face to the name when Phil Sherwin told me about this very sad news in the pub last night. I now recognise Pete from his picture posted on here earlier.

Probably like most, I first came into contact with Pete during the protests.

The last time I spoke to him was in the Duke William following the home defeat against Southend in March. I was down in the dumps questioning if we were going to make automatic promotion. Pete was so positive and full of confidence that he cheered me up no end.

He and his smile will be sadly missed at Vale Park without doubt.

My thoughts are with Lisa, his family, and his unborn child.

The world will be a sad place without him.

RIP

I think I met Pete for the first time at QPR away when we beat them in the league cup and couple of seasons back. As soon as you met him you could tell he was a genuinely a nice guy. From then on I saw him most weeks around Burslem, usually just to say hello to but his passion for all things pvfc were clear as anything.

RIP Pete. Top man.

Yes, he was Wezza. It is indeed tragic. I still can't come to terms with what's happened. I woke up 5 or 6 times in the night and the first thought I was of Pete. I ended up reading his texts on my 'phone. Even in his texts you could sense his excitement for the upcoming birth of Freddie. That was Pete though. He was excited about the Vale, his baby, Lisa and everything that meant something to him. He always called me Queenie, the Queen of OVF. Well, this queen is totally at a loss as to why this terrible tragedy happened. Loved Pete, you couldn't help but love this bloke.

This may not be the appropriate place but... On another thread I offered to pay £100 to have a name flashed on the scoreboard for 5 seconds every home match... I will pay £200 to have 2 names flashed on the board.... one for PeteT.

Nice one Geo.I read this and thought it could be expanded on.I have contacted supporters club Ally and suggested .......

How about we via the supporters club chip in and do similar.Could be done first home game Brentford and again with Lisa's permission of course on his birthday. It would 2 fold it would be a great tribute to Pete and would generate more money for the club which Pete would appreciate.

I cannot put anything eloquently into words I thought several glasses of red wine and 3am would do it but by that time I couldn’t see the computer screen, all I could do is wake my kids (Fred & Jessie) up at 3.30am and give them a huge cuddle and tell them I love them.

Pete was the most sincere, polite, positive, intelligent, energetic bloke going who always went out of his way to chat to you (usually about socialism and the greater good) at all the away games. We’d occasionally chat about Sheffield TV’s and Ian White and how we needed more left leaning Vale fans. You can now plot the revolution together.

We had a long chat after the Northampton game about him becoming a dad and he was sooooo excited and was asking me question after question about fatherhood. He said the most complimentary things about myself and about my kids (he’d only seen photos via FB) and was itching to become a dad and an active Vale dad at that. You will live on Pete in your child and Lisa.

You only need to look at the tributes paid to him to see what a well respected and loved individual he was.

I shall be in the Bulls before the first game of the season and every pint will be in his beautiful honour. A truly, beautiful human being.

RIP comrade.

What Spunkers and os have said rings true for me too, as I said I didn't know Pete well but the subject of a few pm's we exchanged was him offering to pick up some tickets for me for an away game because I live 30 odd miles from Vale. For whatever reason I was able to pick them up myself in the end, but it was a really kind offer.

I seem to remember the first time I spoke to Pete was at the Mike Newton meeting at the Kings Hall, I'd only just met the bloke but as os says he spoke to you like he'd known u for years because you were a Vale fan.
