A certain manager has announced his retirement today.... That manager has built a lot of his success in getting rid of disruptive players, some of them exceptionally good players. Sometimes you have to do what is right for the club, Burge is a very good player but a complete cok and I'm sure Vale won't be the last club he has to leave on a mutual agreement.

Maybe but if he thinks he's good enough to be playing in the championship he should have dominated the midfield more. I can't recall many occasions when he did this. If there were any managers from championship clubs watching then I'm sure they would have thought he would struggle in two leagues above. Plus he sounds like a right plank! We will be needing players of better quality to compete in league 1.

Biggest mistake in letting him go. Seemingly, Micky Adams wanted to keep him on but was overruled by Mr Wildes who does not like rules being broken or speaking out. Crickey, if that was the case I would have been given the boot from my employer a hundred times over for standing up to Directors over the years if I felt they needed to consider other decision options. Ryan was the most talented player I had seen at Vale Park for as long as I care to remember.

I know which one I would prefer to have at the Vale and it isn't the latter.

 

Adams has got a big task in trying to bring in a player as good as Burge. It was rude and disrespectful from Vale that his name never even got mentioned by the announcer over the tannoy during the last home game of the season in the list of players who had played their part during our promotion season. Burge more than contributed postively to Vale's cause.

Burge added a touch of class to our midfield. Baffling that some fans couldn't even see or notice that.

A lot of threads and discussions about Ryan Burge and hardly anyhing about Calvin Andrew and Kingsley James for exemple. It's good to sometime have a player that people have opinions about. It reminds me of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who a lot of people can't stand despite that he has been player of the year in Sweden 7 times or so.
