Post match comments Vale 4 Wycombe 1

I believe that Micky vindicated what Dave said because he wasn't too thrilled with their overall play and thought the scoreline flattered us.Which he stated on RS. Fans like the manager are passionate about our team and really there are hundreds of 'managers' on the terraces who know better than the manager himself.

For goodness sakes get off a 100% Vale fan's back. What he shouted was hardly a criticism of the manager. It was aimed more at the players who were 'strolling' a little at the time.

The one thing I do realise from Saturday's game is how vital it is to have a good ref because it was looking as if his bias of giving them a nothing penalty whilst ignoring a crude body check and then compounding the matter by stopping play to allow the play acting thug to get treatment, was looking like giving them the chance of winning the game.

I think we all saw what was happening at 2-1 up but you have to give Wycombe a lot of credit for not sitting back, even at 0-1 and with ten men they still tried to attack and could have gone 2 up but for that marvellous save. We worked our socks off to get back in the game with lads who were clearly not 100% match fit and without the likes of Loft, Morsy and Burge so it was inevitable we'd need a breather and to be careful we didn't get caught out by throwing too many forward, the third goal was a big relief and it was then game over.

There was always the chance of an equalizer, especially with that apology of a ref, but as you say we were not at full strength, but coped. Football is finished if you cant voice your advice during the game, you will soon be told if you are wrong. A manager has to take it on the chin, and will reply in the heat of the game, but after the game should be more balanced which I think he was. Understanding MA`s comments is difficult at times as there are mind games in play as well, but seems to get on better with RS now. Great to have him as a manager/motivator, together with Page we have very good prospects, especially if there is a small amount of investmet for them on the way.

If you keep the dugouts in front of Lorne Street you're going to get moaned at, doesn't matter if its the best start to a season we've had in donkeys years or not. Quite like to see Micky say something back though, why shouldn't he?

Ps, seems Markboure really does love Micky Adams!

I'm all for encouraging the players to push on etc, but condescending the manager, why? Embarrassing. Glad Adams had a pop back.

As for the game, another fine win. Okay we weren't at our best 1st half, but were not going to steamroll every team, every week. Pope, again, fantastic, as were the rest 2nd half. Neil, what a relief to have him in goal at the moment. Can't fault Adams or the team at the moment. Bring on Burton.

Micky is doing a great job at the moment but he does need to chill. MA was wrong to have a go back, very unprofessional.

Maybe the guy shouting his mouth off at him needs to chill out? How is p*****g the manager off going to help? All's your doing is distracting him from the game. Adams has been superb this season, his tactics have been spot on for 99% of the games. So for someone to belittle him & try to tell him his job, like the way he did, sorry but like i say, i'm happy for Adams to have a go back at him. Not a problem for me, if your big enough to give it, then you should be big enough to take it back. Well done Adams.

I was not going to make any comment on this issue because its a 'nothing' issue.

However, ontopgate, decided to 'out me' so I did.

Its amazing how many people can pass judgment on something they never heard.

I have no intention of continuing the debate because there isn't one - a fan offers some advice to a Manager during a game - wow big deal.

I have no intention of going looking for MA, I am surprised he even made it publc, I have no problem him giving me his opinion then or in the future and he will get my opinion back.

Mickey is doing a truly brilliant job at the Vale. and on Saturday we were like a racehorse out in front that was very close to the finishing line but beginning to ease up and needed a gentle crack of the whip to get us there. For those who were within earshot you will have heard Mickey doing just that, and we got over the finishing line with a flourish.

End of.
