Moore out. Not going again until he’s gone. So see everyone in a few years time whilst we’re probably languishing around 8th in league 2.

Is that a promise? 😉

And what happens if we lose them both?

Can we stop treating games in hand as guaranteed wins.

To be fair some people were doing that when other teams had games in hand over us.  The fact is that the league is too tight to call at this point.  Only Bradford are currently in winning form.  For the rest of us it's turning into a question of who is the least <ovf censored>.

Good start by Vale , and Harper could have had a brace. Then he did nothing else.  He sauntered around  completely lost  or just lazy.  It was a penalty for the hand ball . Why he didn’t give it is beyond me. With a lethargic Vale in the 2nd half , and that’s putting it mildly , Harrogate grew in confidence and could have won it. They are easily the worst team I’ve seen at Vale Park all season , and that second half was non league standard from both sides. We have 2 games in hand , but we still have to win them , and I’m not too confident going to Fleetwood on Saturday, where we may suffer defeat for the first time this year. Overall we should be out of sight by now . League 2 is very poor this season , and we should be beating Carlisle , Tranmere and certainly Harrogate at home. Moore has us in the mix , but I think it’s despite him rather than because of him . He’s a very cagey , defensive manager , even with two up front, so it’s understandable  that Vale fans get so frustrated. Personally I can’t stand his interviews, and his one tonight kept mentioning the group , the game , over and over.  What about “I’m not happy with that , and I’ve just told them in there” .  It’s very frustrating to be a Vale fan now. On to Fleetwood.

Absolutely certain we'll get beaten at Fleetwood. I'll even have money on it. They've just come away from Crewe scoring 4 and we can't score at home against 1 of the worst defensive teams in the league. I'd even be surprised if we get more than 1 point in our game in hand against Colchester

God that was a drudge, boring boring Vale.

I have a suggestion for Darren Moore change the vale strip to the old Black and Amber stripes because it is painfully obvious that none of the team can pass a ball to a white strip.

Can I just mention that things would have been so much worse if their no.21 had taken either glorious chance he was presented with.....

Amos had no problem doing it on Saturday.

How many Tuesday night league home games is it we haven’t won? Does anyone know. Awful record isn’t it. And very surprising.

I make it 13, since 15th March 2022 against Mansfield. And only 1 of the last 14 away so not sure I'm surprised at the performance tonight.

For an 'attacking line up' , only having 2 attackers on the pitch didn't help. Got to be having an attack minded midfielder in there, likely Richards or Chislett of the currently available players.

2 points from these 2 games just isn't good enough (caveat if we win at Fleetwood AND Colchester then 8 points from the 4 games is, but how likely does that seem right now?)

How many back passes to Amos tonight ? Sorry fell asleep after the 20th

For 15 minutes we get the ball out quickly to the wing backs who immediately run at their back line and create a couple of good chances.

Must stop that. Let's get Byers to sit just in front of the backline and pass it along the back to Conner Hall who spends an eternity wondering what to do with it then finally wallop it to no-one!!.

If that was 'beautiful' Darren then i need to check the definition of beautiful.

Crowd was pretty decent in numbers ,in encouragement they were not though fair play to the 47 Harrogate who attended .

Just read that was there second 11 so doesn't say much for Vale at all .

I didn't see enough positive play especially second half Shorrock it's too big a ask for him do it ,and Harts struggling ,Byers for someone so highly rated was very quiet ,and Croasdale didn't function at all ,Hall had the ball probably 65 mins out the 90 .

There's something very wrong with the engine room .

Harper actually did ok first half then disappeared second half .

It's all a bit odd but Hall was having all the responsibility passed to him .

Don't get me started on corners did we win a ball going into box .

Some players come off the pitch with there shorts as clean as when went on

Like I say not enough desire from far too many ,drive the determination just wasn't there .

Too soft

Clark i felt  was poor

To be honest Hall and Tolaj and Smith,John  best of a very ordinary bunch of footballers the other 7 didn't shine anywhere near enough .

On a positive note, we started well. But once we didn't score in the first 20 minutes, it was always going to be difficult. Harrogate just continually dropped into two banks and we just don't have the pace or guile to get around that. Their dedenders also come alive when the ball gets anywhere near the box...there was countless blocks and outmuscling going on. They also broke up the second half with a lot of tactical injuries. 5 minutes added on time was a bit of a joke.

Our midfield didn't help. Very deep to the point where Tolaj had to keep dropping to receive the ball. Croasdale probably had his worst game, just kept giving the ball away. Harper does some good things but then is really sloppy.

Thought Curtis was handled well by them, closed down immediately every time he got the ball.

Why have we gone back to this short goal kick and knocking it around at the back? It didn't work earlier in the season. With minutes to go, we were still doing it!

The subs were left too late. Hart was appalling when he came on and shouldn't play unless we're absolutely desperate. He reminds me of Dan Jones. Nearly gave away 2 goals tonight and he was only on the pitch 15 minutes! Rico was bypassed a lot of the time. The Palace lad did alright....he's a presence at least although he's got to tuck that chance away.

Still unbeaten in 2025 but too many draws. Although 20 points from 10 games is promotion form. Moore likes the small margin victory, but when it goes wrong you either end up with a 0-0 or lose in a really insipid manner. At some point he's going to have to let the shackles off because we ain't catching anybody playing like we did 2nd half.

Another Darren Moore masterclass.

Make no mistake that IF we go up, it’s because the league is absolutely dreadful.

Another desperate game of football apart from the first 20 minutes when I thought we were ok without being free flowing.  I must have been to a different game than Moore tonight if he felt we played well and did enough to win 2/3 games, the second half was truly awful and so boring with the exception of a near miss from a set play by Jerry.  I can't believe he came out with he picked a positive attacking team, it is 5 defenders, 3 defensive midfield players and 2 forwards.  We basically have 8 outfield players who will never score more than 3 or 4 in a season starting which leaves the only realistic chance of scoring down to Tolaj and Curtis.  If you are going to play this formation, you have to find room for either Chislett or Rico, a midfield 3 of Byers, Harper and Croasdale will never work.

I am so bored of watching the games under Moore and for me I would not make a change now but regardless, whether we are in league 2 or league 1, he would not be here next season for me, would be harsh for most if we go up but Sheffield Wednesday got rid after a play off win.  As someone mentioned earlier, the entertainment value is next to nothing.  If we go up, everyone will be over the moon but I just look back to that promotion season under Adams when we had so many great games, 5 at Fleetwood, 6 at home to Rotherham, 7 against Burton, 4 against Wycombe, Bristol, Plymouth, great win against Cheltenham in the snow when things looked we were dropping away, another 4 or 5 games where we scored 3.  This year other than Newport away, spells in the games against Wimbledon, Fleetwood and Chesterfield, have we been entertained and left thinking what a good game of football that was.

i have to say this is the best post on this thread and i cant find room to argue with any of it. desperate was the word i was looking for earlier on to describe tonights game.
