Port Vale v Harrogate match thread - 4th March

It was driving me mad we gave harrogate time to set themselves by slowing everything down then we couldn't break them down the way to stop that is to play the ball quicker. I have been waiting for byers to show me why people said he was the best midfielder in the division but Im still waiting he looks average to me. Not the worst but not the best either.

On Byers I think the midfield balance is hurting his game. The amount of times he looks forward for pass and nothing is on so he has to go backwards is criminal

I really can’t believe DM watched that midfield 3 on Saturday and thought it was a good idea to play them together again tonight.

I wonder if tonight will be seen as over reacting bed wetting?

The latter rudeness no, but your default setting is “Everything is s**t”, so it’s taken as your customary reaction to every game.

Because it is. That’s why.

Only in your head.

We are in the last 11-13 games of the season for the top teams, and have the automatics in our own hands.

Anyone rational, if offered that at the start of the season, would have snapped the hand off.

Get behind the club.

Actually try to help them gain promotion.

It’s not just in my head is it?

I paid my money to watch and backed them. As mentioned earlier, I don’t think me complaining about Darren Moore’s crap management style on a forum will affect anything.

We’re only 6 points ahead of Bromley in 9th. It’s not like we’re flying

Yep, difference is they attack more, better to win one and lose one than draw both.

Apart the fact that this whole site goes into meltdown when we draw, let alone lose. Yet if we win out 2 games in hand, we will be above Doncaster by 2 points, so your point doesn't really ring true does it?

Got the ball laddie. Never mind son
I'm with you, Vale to finish 3rd.
Behave.

And what happens if we lose them both?

Can we stop treating games in hand as guaranteed wins.

Then you either have a short memory or haven’t been around Vale long enough to remember what real **** feels like.

This can still be an excellent promotion season.

A world away from some of the season ms we have endured.

that was an awful showing again. really dreadful. the only plusses being we didnt concede and byers got 90 minutes under his belt.  a game to forget.

Bradford looking like EFL2 champions in waiting.

Despite a frustrating evening, results elsewhere mean that Vale are still favourites for the automatics.

Are we really favourites?

It is that’s true. But in those seasons we didn’t have the players we have now.

I understood us being garbage when we had Danny Pugh and Michael tongue in midfield, it made sense that we played turgid football and struggled.

I don’t understand this when we have players like Tolaj, Byers and Curtis.

Didn't treat them as guaranteed wins though did I? Can look at it this way, we are 6th whilst playing 1 to 2  game less than the teams around us.
