Port Vale v Harrogate match thread - 4th March

Don't start with the patronising names "boy". (I'm sure I'm older than you.)
I made no claim it was inside the box. The ball is that round thing not what's inside the other player's socks.

Got the ball laddie. Never mind son

Thought byers was that far back he was playing in goal.

He was completely disinterested in that second half. Last two games have been time for him to step up. He hasn’t impressed me since he’s returned from injury.

I wonder if tonight will be seen as over reacting bed wetting?

The latter rudeness no, but your default setting is “Everything is s**t”, so it’s taken as your customary reaction to every game.

Your name calling betrays the weakness of your argument. Goodnight.

Another draw that feels like a loss.  Harrogate defended very well (man marked Byers who was then pretty much forced to sit deep most of the game to get respite) but our passing in the mid and final third of the pitch second half gave them every assistance.  Connor Hall’s pass ‘intercepted’ by one of their players lying still and injured on the floor (Hall’s pass hit him) summed it up for me.

All the talk about us not being good enough to go up I’d imagine is being replicated by fans of all the clubs , bar one, that are above us. DM has said teams lower in the table will step up to stifle us he now needs to step up his tactics and some players now need to step up their performance levels to counter it. Why can’t we just play Notts County every week? 😉

4 points dropped against 2 woeful sides now. With some decisiveness we would be up there in 2nd or 3rd.

midfield were up in tunstall somewhere on a night out. Tolaj was great but he was doing all the hard work whilst the midfield were so deep they were down the D road near Etruria

crap on every level tonight.

maybe in another 150 years we might get out of the bottom leagues

Trying to be positive, which is not really my thing, at the very least we are a hard team to beat. If we don't go up this season I don't think it would take too much in the summer to make us among the big favourites next season. We need to sort out our striking options, that's for sure, and add a bit more craft and guile in the middle of the park.

Byers, so far, has been a big dissapointment so far considering the hype he came with and the money he is earning. Hopefully the more he plays now the more he can show the player we thought we were getting.

Because it is. That’s why. You know my thoughts on the manager and his style of play. I just find it boring. I actually thought the first half was good tonight and was very confident we would push on 2nd half. God knows what was said to them at half time for that display to appear

Why do we slow the game down at every ducking opportunity when we have the ball?

Freekicks, thrown ins, goalkicks you name it slow it down. Don’t know why Harrogate felt the need to time waste we did it for them!

Zero idea or creativity.

150th anniversary going to be spent in L2 because DM couldn’t inspire a group of players to stay in L1 and doesn’t know how to play against teams who just want to defend.

<ovf censored> DM.

Boooooooooo

It was driving me mad we gave harrogate time to set themselves by slowing everything down then we couldn't break them down the way to stop that is to play the ball quicker. I have been waiting for byers to show me why people said he was the best midfielder in the division but Im still waiting he looks average to me. Not the worst but not the best either.

You really are a vicious, destructive little Stokie ****, aren’t you …?

No, that will be you

I know we’re playing wing backs but with 3 cb’s I don’t understand why the 3 in midfield are so deep. One if not two of the mids need to be doing more to support the forwards.

Where is the drive and passion to force a win. Slowing the game down to walking pace. Who do they think they are. Our quality at times tonight was non league level.

We are now playing exactly the same as we were in November and December without Garrity. Midfield are offering nothing.

The same Doncaster that lost tonight? Who are only 4 points ahead of us having played 2 games more?

Yep, difference is they attack more, better to win one and lose one than draw both.
