Gillingham v Port Vale match thread - Sat November 9th

Featured Replies

Another big game and a big test despite their form.

November is sparse which is probably good for us, we are through in the Pizza Cup so dont need to risk anyone there so in terms of games we have:

Barnsley - Gills 7 Day Break

Gills - Morecambe 7 Day Break

Morecambe - Crewe 9 Day Break

Crewe - Cheltenham 8 Day Break

So should keep us fresh and able to be at full available strength in each game.

The Midfield is a huge worry, terrible luck if we lost all 3 quality central midfielders we have, I think we could cope with losing 2 but need Croasdale or Garrity fit, one of them with Sang would work and probably not be too detrimental but Sang and Lowe would be a drop off in that area and a cause for concern. Harper will hopefully aid that but dont think we will see him until after the Wrexham cup tie where he should get minutes.

As said the four teams behind us play so a win here would be massive, we'd be at least 6 points clear of fourth heading into a tie against bottom of the league and present us a real opportunity to start to pull away from the play off spots.

Draw wouldn't be the end of the world but wouldn't be surprised if we slipped up finally here, maybe its the Vale fan in me but feels we are due a defeat.

Bad vibes about this game. We're due a league loss & they are due a win. Gills 2-1 Vale.

I am sure DM will have us well prepared and set up for this game. No silly defensive mistakes and we could get something. As a Vale fan never to over confident just hoping we turn up and give them a game.

Has the club announced how many we’ve sold?

1-0 Vale with a Stockley header  74 mins

2-0 Vale.  Stockley and Tolaj

The might whites march on and put the nerves to bed.

Mods can we fix the thread title? Really confusing me with the date being wrong 😄

Sorted

What is the deal on tickets with the match? I may have missed something! If we order online, as they are physical tickets (as it’s not on ticketmaster) where do we pick up at Priestfield rd?

Collect from club shop until 2.00 pm Friday. After that Collect at Gillingham.

Tickets are physical yet I've a QR code in my digital passes. 🤔

This is a home match for me, will go with my brother & my son. I phoned Giils ticket office - we can get tickets there.

One consolation of relegation is that we get to see more of the Vale in the south east.

Currently I would be happy with a draw and clean sheet but I worry abou  fitness of garretty

but sang isn’t a replacement for him and is not a left back as proven against Barnsley IMHO

I think Grant played left back against Barnsley
