Currently I would be happy with a draw and clean sheet but I worry abou  fitness of garretty

but sang isn’t a replacement for him and is not a left back as proven against Barnsley IMHO

We have Grant and Shorrock fit for left back luckily.

Sang is almost the only replacement at the moment, we are decimated in that area. He's much improved this season.

Sang has been a lot better this season, it's sounds harsh having said that but I think decent league two is about his level, he tries hard but the better standard in League One was too much for him week in week out, unless he can improve IF we go up I wouldn't be confident with him in the side next season.

Admittedly he's one of those players(utility) who can fall into the trap of being able to play in two areas(defence and midfield) averagely so he ends up never holding down the same position particularly if your first choice is fit more than they aren't but with injuries he does get chances. Ultimately there is someone who is better than him at RB, LB or DM position though.

Grant similarly but more left sided, he's not done a lot wrong in the 2 games he's played(although I actually forgot he was on the pitch against Barnsley) but if Hart, John and Clark are all fit at some point and CM/DM the same I doubt he plays much.

I think with Sang its confidence as well but he did start off in L1 ok at Wing Back before falling out of form, if you think though to that horror show at home to Fleetwood second half he was so exposed but yet against the exact same player (Phoenix Patterson) this season he won man of the match so could be confidence, add in Sang is still fairly young and learning so this season at a lower level as with Debrah may do him the world of good for his development.

Conor Grant is a funny one as he clearly has the ability to do a decent job in L1 for us as he did Plymouth, so again was it just being in a team shot of confidence.

Grant is a thinking man's footballer. You've got to remember that he wasn't blessed with pace before the serious injury that kept him out for 12 months. Maybe it's taken him another 12 months and a lot of patience to get back to a reasonable level now. I think he did very well at Harrogate considering the lack of game time in the run up to that match. Grant is like a new signing as I for one didn't think we'd see him a Vale shirt again.

Agree with that. I was very pleasantly surprised at Harrogate, I was one of a few there who saw him and Sang seemingly lined up at wingback and started having vietnam flashbacks to last season. Fair play to him.

Seen we’ve sold about 450 odd. Come on guys we can do better than that - what could be a better way of spending your Saturday than a 9 hour round trip to see the cheeky table topping whites?!

I think we have to remember we have dropped a level which helps, Mansfield last season for example our players who struggled in league one performed arguable the best they did all season in that test. Debrah, Sang for example, also to add in we do not know what the mentality became like after the good start as we picked up what 25 points in the last 38/39 games didn't we? Must have been soul destroying mentally and won't have helped.

Expected a few more. Sure Gills brought about 700 to us when they were top.

Trek and a half to be fair and expensive day out.

I've spent 85 already on ticket and hotel, once factor in food and my 3 pints of shandy it all adds up.

Sure we took about 7-800 as well that same season

Yeah it was somewhat tongue in cheek, totally get the cost bit. I was going to stay in a hotel but decided to save some money, so am stupidly doing it in one day. Thankfully I live an hour south of stoke so only a 7 hour round trip for me!

I suspect a lot of people will be saving themselves for Morecambe.

Well done mate. The one day is a killer. 8 hours travelling for 90 minutes.

Let's hope we're rewarded. 🙏

Gillingham brought to us 350 when top in 2012/2013 season and we took 719 to them when 2nd and the win sent us top. We usually take less than 200 to Gillingham. I can't go as got a new fridge being delivered Saturday and can't go Morecambe as got Christmas shopping to start.

Come Morecambe and buy everyone a Morecambe scarf, job done.

475 plus today and tomorrow's  sales which I feel is a very good amount thus far.

Morecambe away next week where I'd say 2000 be going .

Money doesn't grow on trees most of Vales away days are quite far away .

So respect for the following

Team well let's hope we on it from start to finish this weekend .

No idea how BG and RC are hope they are both fit and ready to produce .

Paton and Stockley for me up front a recall for Chislett ,and Cover to be played in midfield if either BG or RC out if both out then Cover for Lowe and Grant for Sang changing to back four with CH at left back not Shorrock.

So if all fit

      Ripley

Sang Debrah Hall

       RC BG

BBB.  CHISLETT  Curtis

     STOCKLEY Paton

We are very good away and Stockley is the glue ,movement should be very good off him with Paton Curtis and bb and chislett.

Obviously team.changes if best midfielder/s out but  if not thats the team win the game

UTV
