I would imagine that's him done at the Vale now unfortunately, despite the "but I’ll keep working and hope to see you all next season". Maybe a PAYP contract if we do get relegated as he's a class above at that level but his injury record is awful.

Damn and blast, always more hope of a goal when he was on the field, the most skillful forward we have and likely to create something out of nothing. He will be a big miss for the run in.

Shame, but we only normally get a couple of games and then he ends up injured after the opposition take him out in games and he's out for a couple of months.

I think that is really sad news about a great player but I fear we won’t see him again in a vale shirt as his consistent run of injuries mean they probably won’t offer him a new contract at the end of the season and that means there is too much pressure on ikpaezo who in my professional opinion as a podiatrist has been rushed back too quickly

If he has played his last game for the club , I shall remember his goals at Exeter and Swindon which got us to wembley , where he scored again of course . He was a sublime player , had the ability to play at championship level , but something was lacking somewhere , cant put my finger on it though . Best wishes for the future James .

He only scored 4 goals in 27 games last season. This season he has only scored 3 or 4 goals and missed about 3 months due to injury again. Yes he did well in the 2021/2022 season in league 2 but I'd be releasing him, not even worth a pay as you play deal either.

Thank god that Uche will more than likely released at the end of the season

He has scored more league goals than Wilson at a similar goals per game ratio...

He may have effectively gone but despite the injuries, is one of the most successful strikers we have had since Pope, which yes is damning with faint praise as the candidate list is very short…

Even so, be careful what you wish for because it has been proven hard to find better…

Will probably get Butterworth back when he gets the push from Carlisle. I’m calling it now!

Lets sign him back up again on a 2 year contract so he can play <ovf censored> all games yet again like he's done for the past 2 years.

Tell you what I wish for?? That we do not sign a striker that's hardly played for 2 years = James Wilson
