It's a great move to try to leverage his fame to grow the fanbase, regardless of what I think of his ego or music. It would be nice to see some of his money go in, but I hope he's even more effective at persuading other people with money to jump on board, take a ride.

Cause the kids are alright?

The cynic in me foresees another Netflix special - im not saying I am against it as the profile could go through the roof, but these celebrity cameos can also lead to inflated prices:

"Wrexham want to buy Ryan Loft - Wrexham you say, great, tell them its a million"

"Doncaster want to buy Ryan Loft - Doncaster you say, great, tell them its a round of Abbots in Wetherspoons"

I don't know what's wrong with me about this, its wonderful news and Robbie will be a great ambassador - maybe iv got little old 4th Division Port Vale syndrome - which is Hoppers all over, iv always thought small all my life 🙄🙄🙄

Not for me this. Just my opinion it'll fast become the robbie show if he has anything to do with it

Give it a couple of weeks and it will have died down and no doubt the press will be saying he is not a Vale fan anymore and gone back to Chelsea and Tottenham again.

Get him on TV wearing different Vale shirts and people will no doubt buy them and make the club some money that way.  Did in his Take That days.

RW has been made joint Club President to share the role with JR.

A great move for the club.

This shows a lack of ego from both rudge (never in doubt) and carol. Only one ego at the top of the club!

Anything that can encourage Robbie to dust off his wallet for the club is welcomed by me.

Don’t expect that to happen. Remember Robbie has wealth far beyond the realms of most imaginations. Remember unlike most business barons, Robbie’s money isn’t tied up in another company. His previous EMI deal was £80 million alone.

He could put £1 million into the club every year and it would barely dent the interest payments on his millions.

At Vale we saw him buy shares to keep Bratt going and his charity gig destroyed the pitch. Before Carol appeared and he attended a couple to plug that gig to shift tickets, the last recorded appearance of him attending a match before was Brentford away in 2009. An era when he’d be seen at Chelsea matches on many occasions.

He tends to appear to massage his own ego rather than benefit the club. The charity gig made no discernible difference to the club, yet he has presidency of the club, a suite in his name and status on par with greatest figure in the history of the club in Sir John.

It doesn’t sit well with me that he is getting bestowed such honours when we all know that if as fans, we had his vast wealth, we’d have done far more. We can’t do a statue for Rudgie, but we can give RW a suite and a presidency?

Also it smacks of a well timed PR move. No decent signings, no money, Flitcroft talking of looking to Nordic leagues?

Don’t worry Vale fans….here’s President Robbie to deflect from all your troubles!
