For those saying the the EFL are setting a very "dangerous precedent" if Vale are not awarded the 3 points & the game needs to be replayed, give your heads a wobble

Second guessing was impossible BJ. We'd of all looked fools if nothing happened and I'm hypothetically sat at home as Vale go 3 nil up. But only 63 away fans decided to risk it.

Often these preplanned demonstrations fall flat. Nobody could of forseen for sure what would happen. As it was it was a success from their point of view. 

Maybe some preemptive plan by Reading would of been helpful 🤔

thats different to preventing a spontaneous pitch invasion and then using force to remove them once peacefully protesting. 

Yes, that's an important difference.

A lot of fans who run on through exuberance during a special game and can be shaperoned off quickly is bad, unlawful but within cultural tolerance. A bit like driving at 35 mph in 30 mph zone.

But this pitch invasion was malevolent. It is motivated by dispute, protest and no concern for reasonable boundaries. Also it could happen again next game. There is little choice but to take significant action to restore the rule of law. Can't have the drivers doing 70 mph in a 30 mph zone.

I was busy yesterday but would have been 100% supportive if I'd been there - I'd have hoped the evidence from when I was a 15 year-old and getting spat and physically threatened at protests organised by yourself against V2001 would be sufficient evidence.

If I had made the trip, I'd have 100% backed Reading without question. We, more than anyone, know what it's like to feel your club is being torn away from you.

We were very fortunate that we had Carol Shanahan waiting in the wings and an owner demanding £5m, not £50m. Major disruption wasn't needed - but then again, thank God, as it appears perhaps the key figure behind B&G would have been against it.

Port Vale shouldn’t suffer for what happened yesterday, Reading fans and Reading FC caused a game that had started to be abandoned. A replayed game and anything other than 3 points to the Vale means Port Vale will be paying the consequences for what happened. Saying that, it’s not particularly fair on other teams that Vale automatically gain 3 points.

Reading should and will get penalised, the tricky decision is to decide what happens with the game that never was.

The EFL is subject to FA sanctions. I think the FA is in control of all football aspects.

Correct. The FA is still the ultimate body responsible for the governance of the game. Whatever the EFL does is subject to the FA’s rules and regulations.

How this will change when the new Independent Regulator is in place remains to be seen.

A peaceful protest that doesn’t threaten others is permitted. Big protest went ahead in London so to answer your statement again, the Govt have not taken away the right to protest peacefully, read your own statement.

My point is that it stopped Reading playing a football match and thousands of fans their right to recieve/enjoy that to which they were entitled. Read the Law.
