The Reading fans executed their threat.

Reading owners are also pleading poverty, hence what happened yesterday, which means the club were never going to pay for a police presence or deploy more stewards

In which case, shouldn't their safety certificate have been withdrawn?

I'm not crying like a mard-arse like some people looking for refunds.
I had very enjoyable afternoon in Reading FC hospitality.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the afternoon bud, did you get to vote on the man of the match ?

If they hate Swindon then they are ok by me.

I absolutely hate Swindon, you won't catch me there again.

Refuse to play a game and you will be deducted points.  I can't believe some of the posts claiming we should be awarded the 3 points, games have to be decided on the pitch.  Forgetting yesterday, would you really have said this if Reading did this on the last game of the season against a team in the bottom 4 who were 2 points behind us.  Would you be saying the opposition should be awarded 3 points to relegate us and that is the fairest thing.

I agree games have to be decided on the pitch - that’s why vale turned up to fulfil the fixture. Unfortunately, the game was abandoned due to the fault of the other club - not weather or an emergency of anything of the sort. A replay would not be fair for the reasons previously mentioned.

Last game of the season it’s really a comparable situation. If we get a game moved to midweek it will affect the following Saturday game. Clearly not the case with last game of the season.

And if we are facing relegation and losing, do we run on the pitch and get the game abandoned? Therefore the points from Saturday must be credited to the Vale or else others could cotton on and follow the example set at the Reading game.Just a thought!

For those saying the the EFL are setting a very "dangerous precedent" if Vale are not awarded the 3 points & the game needs to be replayed, give your heads a wobble

Yeh, Let's give a minority of fans the power to decide whether a game starts, gets completed or not or even what day a game is played on. Sounds very sensible to me.

I have every empathy for the plight of Reading FC and it's fans but they shouldn't affect/involve other football clubs in their fight.

The only plus of the game being abandoned is that we all had a good sleep over the weekend as we weren't worrying or discussing how Vale can be better in all areas especially if they managed lose the game which on performance levels away from home lately wouldnt have surprised me one iota so in a way if it's  played later on in season we hopefully be back to full strength or something like .

Made the weekend drab from a footballing perspective but I've had a lovely relaxing weekend especially at spa in Albrighton Hall last night .

Hope Reading put on 45 free coaches for game when rescheduled only right if Coates can do it for 20 years I'm.sure they can do it for 1 game to take our away following back down there for the rescheduled fixture .

In fact I may go visit my ladies aunt in Alton Hampshire and get train to game when played this time hopefully there be no abandoning of game and Reading will have a new beginning with another chair person and Uche will score the goals his excellent all round game deserves.

Lately we've won one drawn one and lost one away from home. Hardly disastrous form Phil.

Very magnanimous of them to donate to the statue of Dickie Bird.

Maybe they can start a go fund me for our groups £253 train and £108 match tickets.

And what did they achieve. Yes they got some publicity on the day. But today, next to nothing. By having the match cancelled, they will probably get a points deduction, making relegation more likely. The club may well get fined, making their financial situation worse. May even have to play matches behind closed doors, making both the previous points worse. What Vale fans achieved with Smurf was possible because he saw the chance to make a quick buck. I don't this will be the case with the current Reading owner. I fear if they carry on like this they may make the current situation worse. Could be totally wrong though.

I thought that that was exactly what the Reading fans wanted as it would make the position of the Chairman more difficult and force him to stop buggering about and sell the club quicker.  Thats their reasoning, I believe.
