Great entertainment.

Thats what you pay your money to see

Agree. I think the players we have are more suited to a more expansive style. I believe we will make mistakes at the back regardless of how we set up, so should aim for a more attacking style, home or away.

Our ground looks class these days. What the owners have done is remarkable.

Wilson would if he had  legs that worked

As BJ says, Championship player if at his best and fully fit.

If nothing else, we’re having way more shots on goal than we did previously. 29 on goal 12 on target.

These teams were probably not playing full their strength full strength XI’s here but for comparison:

Southampton 4-0 Walsall (19 total 7 on target)

Chelsea 4-0 Preston (24/12)

Sheffield Utd 4-0 Gillingham (23/9)

So we really were putting out “big team thumps much smaller team in the FA Cup” levels of attacking football right now. Shame we defend like “small team getting thumped etc etc”

Pity about the Railway Toilets mess , kinda takes the shine off that happy clapping statement . Urinating is a glorified plastic bucket is not great when you paid £300.00 for a season ticket

I honestly cannot ever be convinced about Gavin Massey.

People wanting him to get MOM today?

Have a word.

Did anyone see his pathetic chip towards their player, when we should have been on a counter, which resulted in their 3rd?

He was the architect of that! It’s a giff job he passed one in the net to make up for it because their keeper was garbage.

Vale are garbage. The over coaching is why Alfie didn’t clear his lines for their 2nd.
Andy Crosby is getting away with murder. So many papering of the cracks.

Cheltenham will finish above us. Mark my words. And on game number 46 this season we will have either been relegated or it will be on the last day.

You happy clappers have been warned.

If you love DC that much go and support Cheltenham. 29 shots on goal, 12 on target against a club much bigger than ours. I just don't get what some fans expect.

First of all I would say that apart from our comical defending it was a really enjoyable game of football on a freezing cold afternoon. I was pleased to see Wilson continuing to edge up his minutes on the park. I think that big Uche really benefits from Wilson being on the pitch, as the opposition all know Wilsons quality and have 2 men around him, which yesterday gave Uche much more space to rampage around in, and boy wasn't he effective at that? It may be that there is something in the background we are not aware of that resulted in Debrah being on the pitch when clearly he was nowhere near fit. Other players as always seems to be the case nowadays were not playing in their best positions, I laughed out loud when Smudger was left standing as their player gave him 10 yards start then breezed past him to put in a really good cross. If we can get a few of the non walking wounded back within a few weeks I reckon we will be much stronger for the run in. As others have mentioned it was good to see Crosby so angry in the post match interview, although I do wonder if that was more due to internal pressure on him from CS and DF, as we have been terrible in previous matches but he didn't seem that upset in the interviews. Whatever, if he is safe then lets make the best of it and get (or stay) behind him and the lads.

Third goal we conceeded was highly annoying. We went from a highish press to literally standing off and zonal while Charlton knocked the ball about for 5 minutes with not one challenge from Vale being put in. You could see it developing and leading to their goal.
Just one tackle, challenge or a high line would've prevented the goal without a doubt.

He missed from a yard today first half. But maybe.

Reminded me of Liverpool’s Nunez 😉

Another player who isn’t of premiership standard if you take away his pace, but at least we didn’t pay £85m for Wilson.

I was fuming when the third goal went in, having already given away 2 goals with awful defending we do it again, only Massey will know what he was doing when he gave the ball away, an easy ball in the box where Grant fails to track his man and the final nail was the fact it was Campbell who puts the ball in the net where Ripley could have done better. We were on top of the game at this stage and the more likely to win the game.
We have gone from a quite boring team with very few efforts on goal to a lot more attackive team but now leaking goals from sloppy defending, if we can mix the 2 good sides to our game, create as many chances and stop the sloppy defending we have the mix for a very good team.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League and Nunez is regularly in their team.

As we saw with Middlesbrough there is a big step up to Championship level we are not ready for. As we can see with the fate of the Championship clubs promoted to the Premier League it's another big step up to what is currently the strongest league in the world.

Nunez came as a top striker, he does tend to have the same finishing technique which is predictable. However, still contributing a lot.

Bobby Firmino also wasn't the greatest finisher. But he was the best target man I've ever seen play. Uche has some improving to do to get to his level.

So playing up front at Liverpool is possible for Nunez because he's a sort of more mobile Firmino.

I read a Charlton match report where they described Uche as "rambunctious".
I had no idea what this meant, so Googled it and think it's a brilliant representation:
"Difficult to control. Full of energy. Wildly boisterous"
[emoji23][emoji23]
Vale fans only judge players on goals scored, but I'm a massive fan of Uche (when used properly).

A new word for the better half me thinks [emoji23]
