Maybe one day a role as striker coach could be found for Pope.

I think there is a need for a striker coach now at the club . Foyley improved Akpo and Constantine , we have a full time goalkeeping coach for two keepers over 30 - you would think they have sussed it out by now . A striker coach might improve our present forward players .

A striker coach might help but I fear it's much more fundamental. We have a manager who shows no evidence of being able to set the team up as an attacking force so no matter how well drilled our forwards are if the team organisation, tactics and approach play are lacking then we won't create chances. As someone else has posted on here, if we signed Haaland he wouldn't be able to score.

He would of been my first choice thats for sure, they will pay him decent money tbf

Not sure who else is out of work who i would like but my 2nd choice is Pete Wild although it doesn't look like Crosby is going anywhere soon

Pete Wild is the obvious choice. Barrow have the fourth least valuable squad in L2 and there they are proudly sitting in 3rd place, so value for money personified and on a shoestring budget. And a win ratio of 44.44%.

But you're right - Crosby isn't going anywhere, not at least until we're rooted in the bottom four with no signs of improvement. My guess is that Carol will stick by him until the last possible moment and then replace him with Dunn until the end of the season, and with a win ratio of 15.22% as a manager, that ain't exactly promising.

To be honest, I think we're skint.

Not sure about skint but cashflow must be right up the shitter.

The strikers are naff but we create nothing of quality.

If we were as good and unlucky as the manager makes out, we'd be spurning high-quality chances every game. We'd be coming away frustrated at the gluttony of 1v1s, free headers, and shots within the box we are taking and missing.

My worry is that I'm rarely coming away thinking we should have buried several chances. Our goals are set-pieces or penalties. As poor as Uche and Loft have been, what are they feeding off? With Chislett and Arblaster both off the boil, and Devine rarely doing much of note, we don't have any creativity in open play.

The problems are more fundamental. Crosby is struggling to set up a side to craft chances - which has never been his strength. We can sign every striker under the sun but I fear our problems are more structural than personnel based.

A high percentage of goals are scored from crosses , wingers going to the byeline and whipping the ball across the six yard box . We have no wingers , and lets be honest our wing backs are defenders .

True, we don't possess any wingers at all.... what we do is try to work the ball into crossing positions, then when we do get the chance to cross it, we more often than not, turn back, give it to the full/wing back who passes it to the centre mid/half who gives it to the other full back or goalkeeper  ..... ad infinitum. As boring and unproductive as reading this post !!

We need to cross it whenever we get the chance - Connor Grant did slightly improve us in this area yesterday - and if the (non) strikers know it's coming, they might be able to get on the end of it ....    ...might !!
