Apparently an American club holds his registration and won’t release him .

If that's the case, must come down to us not being willing to meet their fee etc

In fairness not every young player will make it. And he’s only 6 months older than plant. Some players develop slower than others. Smith was 20 when he broke into the first team. McDermott is still only 18

He's actually 7 months younger than Plant ... he's 6 months older than Walters.

What ever has happened to prevent this guys registration you would hope that the FA or which ever club he plays for in the US would have the players best interests in mind first and foremost.

The FA appear a bunch of vest wearing, nepotistic,  bungling bureaucrats and  youth soccer in the USA is becoming more and more organized and business like compared to 20 years ago so it's a guess where the problem lies.

My son was a promising youth soccer player in the USA and I had him earmarked for trials at the Vale until shoulder injuries and failed surgeries screwed his chances. I would not have been a happy bunny  if the club he played for or the FA got in the way of a potential footballing career.

One kid he played with, who originated from the Ivory Coast, moved to France to try and make the grade but I don't believe he's been successful, he had connections in France, none in Boslem!
