Any updates on Wilson and Grant's injuries?

No need for updates we are blessed with an inordinate number of surgeon's on OVF who can make a diagnosis based on a match report saving the club 1000s on MRI scans and professional advice.

Apparently the injury is so bad that we will never see him in a Vale shirt again, it's so severe that he can't even  wear it on holiday in Torremelinis as he won't be able to move his arms enough to get it in and out of his case.

Crosby suggested that he expected Grant to be out of action for some weeks, but he hadn't yet been for a scan. A "pop" sound isn't good when it comes to your leg apparently

Combined with Crackle and Snap and you're talking a cereal injury....

Looking at his reaction / posts on Instagram I’d say he knows it’s a bad one

I saw it and my professional knowledge as a podiatrist with an MSC it looked like a high grade, possibly a level 4 ACL and if that’s the case HE will have a really extensive recovery and probably won’t play again this season but for his personal sake, I hope I am wrong

Are we still blaming the pitch for injuries this year ?

No, definitely not.  It’s a bit of a dilemma, we’re trying to come up with other reasons these days, despite the fact football is (still) a contact sport.  I think the term “signing crocks” seems to get bandied about a bit so if you throw that terminology into any conversations you have on the subject I think it’s safe to say you’ll get nodding approval.  👍🏻

We've taken some risks with the strikers coming in needing to get match fit. Also by way of re-signing Wilson. But the challenge with signing strikers / forwards at our level is a big one since they are expensive and have a high risk of failure.

I don't think we have any issues re the pitch. At least pre deepest Winter. Excuses left, well it's alleged the floodlights have become too bright.
