Interestingly the author of that article on ADI's blog happens to be none other than ex Vale defender Joe Davis.

Just read that myself. I notice Southampton are having the exact same as us installed for the new season. And looking at it I think ours will be the same as what Watford currently have.

I suspect it'll be run in house from the police control box but still, I wonder how much the production service actually costs per season.

From the blog post

As part of the deal, full content management and production training will be provided by ADI upon installation, ensuring a seamless handover to Vale’s media team who will be creating assets and operating the LED on matchdays.

Ours will be 8m2 smaller than Watford's but the same design and aspect ratio.

The screens are made up of individual panels bolted together, so in the event of a stray shot (or object from some muppet in the new away end) the whole screen wouldn't be knackered. Hard to tell from the video but they look like they could be 1x1m sized.

Good luck to the civil engineer entrusted with hanging several tons of expensive kit off the family stand roof! It must be 80 years old if not older. Maybe they'll take a few rows of seats out and the framework the screen bolts onto will sit on some kind of platform.

edit - just checked and it could be 107 years old. WW1 and the easter rising in Dublin was going on while that roof stood at the old Rec. I don't think I'd want to hang a christmas tree bauble from it after that long.

Our screen is going to look the business. Looking forward to that opening day.

Wonder if for the smaller allocation away games and games such as Derby we'd do an Exeter and show it on the screen?

Guess the issue would be where would people sit 🤔

I think we had to get special permission to do the Exeter game as a one off but when the broadcasting deal goes out to tender again there is potential that could happen with certain conditions. The bigger EFL clubs have been unhappy with the way money is distributed from IFollow, this could be a way of satisfying them.

Lots of potential to increase revenue streams.

The roof has been replaced since the 50s but the supports are the same. I should imagine it’s got a giant screen protector. Imagine getting the bubbles out of that

I reckon they will just sink some pillars into the back of the old family terrace in front of the blue seats and it will stand rather than being held up.

They did say on the release on the official site that "all images are concepts. All are subject to change." so I would imagine it's perfectly possible it will actually be on pillars rather than suspended.
