Not an ideal start.

Bristol A and Portsmouth A in the space of 5 days too.

They're not too bad for me living here down in the South Best. 😉

So, I try and get to at least 1o+ matches every season; just drawn up a rough list of which ones I want to go to and it comes to 23!  Crossed out a few and i'm still at 19.  Not sure funds will stretch to 19 but i'll give it a shot.

UTV!

I don't understand what a tough or easy start to the season would be. As others have already pointed out, we've got to play them all at some time and looking at Vales past results against the "easier " teams, doesn't suggest that any game is particularly more favorable than any other. Bring em' on, UTV.

Carlisle away more or less as inconvenient as predicted. I suppose 1 January is marginally better than 26 December but whether we can get there or not (in the likely absence of trains in Scotland) will depend on the weather. Also, given that we would need two child seats, we can't fit all the family in the car!

Gutted re Blackpool Orient and Posh ( mate owns pub relatively close ) .

All 3 were in my weekend away list.

Blackpool was no surprise to be honest.

Although in mid-week, Blackpool away during the school holidays will be OK with some folk…..trying to find a positive….🙄

Why do we always play Bristol rovers away midweek?

Really winds me up that. Can anyone tell me how many times we've played away in Bristol on a Saturday over the past 15 years? Disproportionately mid-week to a massive extent.

Last season. 10th December!!!

😂. Fair enough. Still seems we've played Tuesday nights in Bristol more often than not in recent history. Still never seen us play in that city and won't be again this season.

Playing Reading early might work for us if they are still struggling off the field, might be one where they are late to the party with signings etc. Barnsley we generally down the years have a good record against and they will likely have a hangover from the play offs.

Blackpool and Charlton will be tricky away from home.

That said September looks kind on paper so its here and there, I am sure there will be twists and turns!
