It does look a tough start but we've somehow gotta make it work to our advantage. 4-6 pts at the end of August wouldn't be too shabby at all.

I think it's all about who we sign. We've kept a cadre of players from last season who can improve and are good enough at this level. If we keep bringing in players of the calibre of our first two signings then I think we can have a good season in midtable or above.

There are two sets of clubs in this league. The promotion cansidate teams need to sign mostly Championship level players. So we need to grab the players slightly below that who are solid at L1. Plus if we could develop our young players and find the odd gem in the loanees.

11 goals conceded in 4 games.
Not good .
I don't see it that way at all .
Barnsley is a ground we do well at .
Reading are in transition
Blackpool have just come down roared on by big away following no reason why we cannot win there
Charlton a toughie but if we play at our best we can certainly give them a game .
I predict 2 wins and 2 draws conceding no more than 3 goals and scoring 8 .

Barnsley, a club I enjoyed visiting last season, are in transition. They've lost their manager and will need to rebuild their squad. There is something going on there in the background. They had no corporate sponsorship when we played there.

Reading and Blackpool have both come down. They will have their best players picked off and also need to rebuild.

We do need to be at our absolute best at Charlton as they seem ready for a push.

This is about who we sign. I think we have a pool of retained players some of whom are ready to develop and others who are experienced. So far this window we are getting stronger than last season.

If the quality of remaining signings is as high as the first two, I think we can finish in the top half.

Dangerous I know but I just had a thought….. does anyone know if we requested to play away from home opening day to give our new pitch another week?

Wouldn't surprise me but maybe because we were at home last year it's just our turn to start away ?

We have 3 of first 4 away though which is unusual or even unfair.
