I thought all this drainage work was done in Smurthwaite's time to try and fix the problem?

Knowing how he scrimped - probably used a couple of paper straws.

Looks like a lot of work going into the pitch.  Please pitch just behave and do what your suppose to do and become a great pitch for our players to play flowing football.  Wingers zipping down the wings, pinging balls in to the goal area for us to score.

Smurthwaite probably had Hodgit and Bodgit in to do the pitch. Which involved digging a few channels and filling them full of owd sponges from the players baths.

I can remember something like this happening in the Rudgey days and it only made the pitch worse.

Well at least in the coming season we won't be blaming the pitch. Always thought it strange that visiting teams managers never blamed our pitch for their poor performances. Probably because this season most of them left with points in the bag.

You'd hope knowledge and technology would have moved on from nearly 30 years ago. It's very scientific nowadays, whereas Belly probably got a pair of local farmers to do it.

yeh belly gave them two new tyres for their tractors!!!!!!!!!-then charged them for air!😄
