Match Thread: Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

I have the greatest respect for Plymouth Argyle and "THE GREEN ARMY", fantastic fans who most seasons find that their nearest "Local Derby" is about one hundred miles away and this season they have had the privilege of Devon rivals Exeter City being in League One. Alternatively it is Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham or Forest Green Rovers. I have followed their fortunes for many years on the Internet and most matches a bit like Portsmouth they have at least 800 plus fans. Total RESPECT and ADMIRATION for Plymouth Argyle.

Really pleased that they have won promotion and their goalkeeper Callum Burton was born and bred in my town Newport, Shropshire.

Also delighted that Vale have secured safety in League One and another fantastic group of fans deserve better next season from whatever players are recruited by whoever the new manager maybe. It is very evident that very players have the quality to produce good performances week in and week out. So when a new manager is appointed. The sooner the better getting the right players in is massive. They MUST be League One players who can produce the performances.

Getting that fantastic promotion v Mansfield in the League Two Play Off Final nearly became such a waste. Thank goodness Vale just achieved survival.

Looking forward to seeing two of my favourite teams in action on Sunday.

Let's get more value for money and better performances plus survival with ease. Not chewing our fingernails and looking over our shoulders at teams below us.

I thought you could only purchase tickets if you had a purchasing history in the last 2 years?

Obviously a few may know a vale fan.

I guess you will see on Sunday if Plymouth score if there are many in there.

Very valey though to undersell ourselves,  ie if we sell out, it can't be us, must be away fans in there, lol

Hope the club don't get in to trouble if anything kicks off.

Very pleased that it has sold well, both financially for the club, and also to head off criticism for not restricting vale fans in favour of visitors.   Can you just imagine the dogs abuse that Carol would have got if she had done that, not that there was ever a decision to make really.

Just had a spare 10 minutes so did a rough count of the remaining available "green" seats in the Bycars. Roughly 1500 still available by my reckoning(which will be within 10% either way). So say 3900 in the Hamil, 6500 in the Railway Stand/Paddock( no idea what their capacities are!), 1600 in the Lorne St and 1500 in the Bycars should give a total crowd of 13,500. We'll see!

Take 1000 off for under 3s not attending !

We don't do it like Stoke and people don't release their junior seats.

The Stoke way then yes 13000+  I think they will announce 12088.

The club announced there was 'limited availability' yesterday so clearly we are restricted by safety issues again.

I would guess if we sell another 500 seats that will be shutters down.

Doesn't the Bycars hold 3000 even WITH safety restrictions applied though? Will be disappointed if we can't get 8500 Vale in for this.

3300 Swindon in there so I take it thars the max we can sell so I reckon about 5/600 to sell .
Be surprised if they do because I cannot imagine someone travelling 5 hrs get a ticket in the home end tomoz that be bizarre but I'd shake there hands if they did as that's more coin for Vale and why not make every available sale they can .
More fans means local economy and surrounding areas benefit .
Just hope they not wasting it on large police presence there is no need .

Swindon were limited to 2250 tickets in response to what they gave Vale fans at their place
