Named my dog after Ken Beamish,

Call the fashion Police!  Ken Beamish was a magnificent signing for us, he was not here long but what an impact he made.  As good a lower league striker as you will find in any team in any era.

Great player for me. His work ethic was fantastic. Remember watching him close defenders all over the pitch. 
29 goals in 85 appearances before his move to Tranmere in 1979.

Always thought of Ken Beamish as a "Tranmere player" as that's where he made his name but he didn't half play his heart out for the Vale. One of my fav Vale players of the 70's, gave his all.

Loved him.

Went to an away pre season friendly, Oswestry I think, and Ken went after a loose ball but missed the target. His momentum though took him into the crowd of Vale fans behind the goal. 'Unlucky Ken' we said. 'Would you <ovf censored> credit it' said Ken, 'roll on April.'

Think it was Ken Beamish who equalised for Vale away at Hull in the FA Cup  70s? , remember took an age to get there by ttrain , on a special from Longport.

Went too. Didn’t someone get killed on the train line? The train was funny because if you got on in Longport you got alcohol removed but nobody bothered at Kidsgrove.

Ray Williams changed the game that day by bringing himself on then crossing for the equaliser

I remember watching him play for Tranmere against Vale after he left. Vale won 2-1 at Prenton and were singing Beamo, Beamo what’s the score at FT. As the Vale fans were right next to the tunnel in those days, I recall him picking up a handful of gravel, on his way to the dressing room, and hurling it the Vale fans.

My favourite player....I was always Beamish when I scored on the school playground.
