Match Thread: Sheffield Wednesday v Port Vale

With a home win behind us this week and  an away win at the L1 Leaders this month, we arrive at the biggest ground in our biggest numbers. The Owls have just won their first L1 game this month. So 6 points this month for both teams. Injuries and sickness have affected both sides so the teams may be closer than their points 46  to our 32 suggest. We can surely expect a better pitch and style of football from Wednesday on Thursday  than we had on Monday, but what will DC have up his sleeve?

Strong possibility of Oxford recalling their keeper as the number 1 was injured yesterday.

If going on train (or staying) then the Sheffield brewery tap on platform 1 at Sheffield Station (access from outside station) is an absolute must go. Beware you may enjoy it that much you will miss the match. Beer brewed on site. Eleven hand pulls. Unfortunately don't do 'bats of thirds' so halves if you want to taste the lot. If Vale play as good as the beer then it will be worth leaving the pub to go the match. 

Note they don't do food as far as I can remember, which isn't much! Lol.

Interesting reading Wednesday's fans' views after their away win at Fleetwood yesterday. A real mixture of hubris and pessimism with some saying it's only a matter of time before they hit the top two, especially as they have two upcoming easy games, and others saying their defence needs sorting, they are over-reliant on Bannan, and need some new coaching to improve their attack. Hope DC pins the bit about us being a soft touch on the dressing room door.

Just hope we can go there and pull yet another surprise out of the bag in front of a bumper crowd. You just have to know that DC will think he can win it, let alone get a draw. Fingers crossed.

Owls on a run of 11 L1 unbeaten, Plymouth had many more behind them. In DC, we trust.
