Parking Problems At Vale Park ?

It's this bit I find interesting....

It comes as Stoke-on-Trent City Council has now got the power to ban traffic on Hamil Road, in Burslem - between High Lane and Jenkins Street - following 'major events'. The 12-month order - which also stops any vehicle waiting, loading or unloading on Hamil Road - came into force last Friday."

Will this be for the bigger games or all games ?

After every home game hopefully.....l honestly feel it's a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt given the speed at which some vehicles go down Hamil Rd. They seem to give zero consideration to the thousands of people leaving the match. Taxis in particular seem to have no awareness around the crowds.

Interesting reading both this and the other story in the paper about the police  & council clamping down on al fresco licences.

It feels like a lot of pen pushers have been making themselves very busy recently on the back of the Vale having a decent season.

Suppose that will mean the Synectics car park being made redundant and a rethink on using the Hamil for home supporters in the future.

I would assume there would be if not already resident parking permits as in major cities.
Parking permits near football grounds always seem a little odd to me. Usually a significant number of residents have to agree to them. So rather than not being able to park outside their house for a specific 60 hours a year, and having no problem the rest of the time, they opt to pay to park outside their house.

How will they differentiate between cars parked whilst the owners are at the match and resididents cars.

Traffic Wardens already have a field day issuing tickets in Burslem when Vale are at home.  It’s a cash cow and someone has probably realised that there’s more money that could be made. You can bet the camera cars will be buzzing around on a match day now, trying to snare drivers stopping for 20 seconds outside the ground dropping someone off.

Suprised that the road hasn't been made one way myself or make it right out of the Synetics car park and left out of the upper car parks.  Avoiding the immediate area outside the ground.

As an aside I turned left out of the Synetics car park and drove cautiously up Hamil Road only for a Vale fan to walk straight out in front of me didn't even bother looking.  Fortunately I'd clocked him so was already on the brakes, didn't stop him looking at me like I was some sort of nutter mind.

As for Vale Park, I've never had problems parking so long as you're willing to walk 10 to 15 minutes (usually less), in locations where you can get away quickly. I see no need to pay to park unless you or members of your party have mobility issues (even with the increased crowds)

I agree myself. Plenty of free parking in Stanfields, off High Lane, and Middleport. 5-10 minute walk max. And no issues getting away at all
