Well if we signed him he would be the first Vale player with a Champions League Winners Medal

Actually Aziz Deen-Conteh was also in that Champions League squad before spending 2014 to 2016 with us.

Ryan Edmondson scored again for Carlisle against Bolton in pre season game. That four in three games. Carlisle fans seem well happy with him. I thought we would have picked him up as a backup striker when Leeds released him.
Sound bloke him. Go on Ryan.

Face doesn’t fit, or DC and the club as a whole think we have a) better players, and b) budget can be better used elsewhere given where they saw Jake in the pecking order.

Obviously DC et al think they have better players and it's their decision but only time will tell. Vale fans have seen Taylor play well and likely only injury will hold him back whereas with hew signings it's a risk whether they play well for the club or not. I've not seen may creative midfield players in Lge 2 do what Taylor has done in a Vale shirt and there's every chance he can do the same in Lge 1.

2019/20 was only really 2019, as his last game that season was 4/1/2020.  That is almost 3 years ago, and since then he has performed poorly at Scunthorpe, and bar the odd good cameo, including setting up the winner atHartlepool and a good game at Wembley when we were totally dominant he has not shown much to justify what was rumoured to be one of the top wages at the club.  If in their eyes he is 5th / 6th Choice centre mid then that is what he is.

I doubt you saw any of Taylor's games at Scunny let alone enough to make a call like that. If Taylor was so poor at Scunny why did they also try to sign him?  Try 2/1/2 years and we have seen Taylor comeback from injury and play well and produce excellent game changing skill which Vale don't have in abundance and is not easy to find.  Class is permanent, form is temporary.

Taylor did more than just set up the winner at Hartlepool when he came on and played well in the all play-offs. His pass out to Worrall opened up the play for the 2nd goal and his subsequent piece of skill and pass out to Benning helped Vale gain dominance at Wembley, the game was far from over then.

You like I have no idea what individual Vale players earn.

If he had done well for club and we sold him Forest were due the lions  share of the profit, we have now negated that and have a sell on clause if he flies at Morecambe.

I would have preferred to see Taylor play well at Vale and help take Vale forward and then be sold rather than see it happen at another club, especially the likes of Morecombe.

Face doesn’t fit makes it sound like a non football decision - it is actually a thought out strategy as a club where DC/DF/AC will live or die on getting most of their decisions right or wrong.

Managers will always pick what they feel will be a winning side, and as they don’t feel Jake fits with that then it’s fine by me.  I trust them to get the balance right.

Jake Taylor has shown he's a good player in a Vale shirt, let's hope Vale don't rue the decision to let him go.

Derby linked with Kemar Roofe for a season long loan is the newest rumour. Surely Derby can't afford that ?

Don't get me wrong Roofe has weetabix for legs but a fit and healthy Roofe is easily championship/premier league level in my opinion.

He was fantastic and scored the winning goal against Dortmund for Rangers to reach the semi final. Scored some big goals in europa league last season

Seems someone is playing about with Wiki, the champions league medal has been deleted from Blackmans Wiki, Corrected I would think

They both had Chelsea squad numbers for that season but didn't play a game. UEFA hand out 40 medals to the winners and only 26 players were in Champions League matchday squads, so that's 14 for management and whoever else.

According he did get a medal due to the third choice goalkeeper getting injured.

As you say time will tell.  Numerous ‘must keeps’ have left to do little elsewhere over the years.  If he does well the sell on clause protects us.  I said rumoured regarding his salary - I was not making out to be ‘in the know’.

I assume Conlon is perhaps closer to a return thank we think, along with Walker who was exceptional in the good run before his injury, ironically also at Hartlepool.  This excludes any other irons we have in the fire, which Taylor’s salary can go towards funding.

I bear no ill will to Jake whatsoever, but am confident we will continue to thrive without him under the current leadership - which is more important than any individual.

Made some great signings Derby have, I thought they were broke? Or has all that been resolved now? Either way, their wage budget must be ridiculous.

They've finally been taken over after numerous wranglings and fake promises.

Even if they do sign Roofe they appear to be a dad's army team having signed a lot of players over 30.

Thanks a lot for the explanation, I suppose a 3rd choice goalkeeper at Chelsea is not to be sniffed at.

Given the coin made at the playoffs, I wouldn't think spending this sort of money on the right player was out of the question. But I don't see that for a keeper.

Yeah it wouldn't be very 'matrix like' for that sort of money.

£100,000 on someone <22yo would make more sense that had resale value.
