Vale Park Capacity

No wonder Owls fans who have been to VP before are questioning their allocation?

The Owls travel to Port Vale on Saturday 1 October (3:00pm) in League One and ticket details are as follows:

SWFC have received the full allocation of 3,300 tickets for this fixture which is ALL TICKET.

I thought the Hamil road end had 4,500 seats.......

Ram 'em IN I say!!😊🤣

Where will this new stadium be located? Anything vaguely "out of town" would be a downgrade. We'd be better taking Pkymouths approach. Keep the main stand and demolish the rest. It'd basically be a new stadium anyway.

I know before saying this everyone can point to financial catastrophe! But by way of work in the 1990s / first decade of 2000's I spent quite a bit of time in and around Bolton Wanderers ground - called Reebok etc. Hotel, conference space, meeting rooms etc. That was built in association with a large retail park, business park at Middlebrook and other facilities that redeveloped that whole area near Westhoughton and Horwich. So a coordinated stadium redevelopment could potentially benefit the whole of Burslem.

But Burslem is different in three ways. There is already major retail and business space alongside the D road. Burslem has a local road system difficult to improve. Also it's not just off a motorway. There isn't enough open and available land.

Conclusion is the current actions at Vale Park are right. But there are ultimately limitations to how far they can go.

The financial catastrophe at Bolton was made on the pitch rather than off it.

So if RS, RP and LS were sold out and there was about 1000 in Bycars that means that there is only a home capacity of about 8500. Damn poor showing for a stadium of our size
Swopping away ends should increase home capacity by a 1000, Lorne St family stand another 1000 or so. Both will release ST seats in the Railway areas that are never used.

Fosse, with the huge police presence, I can never see the home fans being given the Hamil End on a permanent basis. I wish that we didn’t have the minority of mindless idiots so that we could have either police free games or minimum policing. Having said this I have a friend who is a police officer, who informs me that most police on duty are there on cancelled rest days, which means the club don’t pay for them on match days.

As far as I know the club have consulted the police and local authorities in their proposals to change ends and there were no objections. Perhaps someone has later news?

And in the meantime?

Judging by your posts, you seem to be very clear and informed.

I wonder whether you can share your knowledge of the current situation and the plans for future developments?

It would be most welcome.

The Junior Valiant scheme needs looking into. When you have capacity restrictions in place, you can't then have hundreds (or, thousands?) of seats reserved for fans who will never or rarely attend.

The whole reduced capacity thing is very strange (especially in the Hamil), but I doubt we'll hear anything from the club about this. We never do. It's slightly annoying hearing how wonderful the corporate experience is whilst normal match-going fans are waiting 20 minutes to get into stands operating at 50% capacity.
