Played injury time without conceding .  Blank sheets are nice, but the main thing is to score more than the opposition. Super win Vale, first ever league win at Bolton .

Blank sheets are crucial.

Guessing he’s based that off the last few matches rather than today. Looked far from poor today!

Brilliant to see the rot stopped today after a very long Nov. What I was really pleased with was the number of clear cut chances we created which was a huge change from the previous games. We had a a grit and determination today until we where out of sight where we switched off a bit.More work to do defending but great result.

Now for the home performance to improve.

They were absolute dog dirt. Atrocious defensively. The space for our 4th and 5th were hilarious. Kids football.

Not going anywhere this season. Some decent strikers but I reckon I'd Norman Smurthwaite would have notched a brace against them today.

So did many of us before kick off.  If we lost like that against a side on a 5 game losing streak I’m sure a few would be asking questions.

Steve Eyre, Bolton FM co-commentator and former Rochdale manager.

Devante worked hard, made them work hard at the back. Boltons style suited us (open) hopefully he can start scoring, He has pace and energy just need goals, Then he will be worth £ who nows?

He is a player learning his trade and the commentators said he was making runs all over the place and taking players with him.  When he gets his scoring boots on as well, he will be soon taken by a higher up team.

Wow, that was great to watch.  Some of our attacking play was top draw, but we still like to make things difficult for ourselves with some of our defending.

Just before kick off I looked at the odds for a Vale win( just out of interest) Odds were 2/1.Wonder what the odds would be for Vale to score 6 goals.Or Vale win 6-3?

Well, thank god for that.

What was that, the seventh time of asking?

Massive relief lads, feels good.

Delighted for the much needed 3 points, but I can't help thinking this was a freak result the defence is giving me kittens, regardless of the result Askey has got to sort it out at the back but well done on the final result.

Fair play to all today, including Askey. They were abysmal at the back and made us look world-class, but you have to take your chances regardless of who you're up against and for once we did that with aplomb. I'm not going to be fickle enough to pretend that one great result erases all of the past weeks where we have been inept. I also fully expect us to struggle next weekend at home just because we're Vale, but as always, I'm more than happy to be proven wrong.

Nobody should not be extremely concerned about or defence though. He got a goal today but just lately Nathan Smith has played like the kid in the park that gets chosen last. Legge has been well below par too. But as long as I see us going after teams instead of our players sitting back and waiting for someone else to do something, which happens all to often, then you won't see me complaining much regardless of how many we win or lose.
