Well that was unexpected. I need to go Christmas tree shopping more often! Ridiculous result, just annoyed it's one that I missed, having sat through games like Scunthorpe and Stevenage. I also missed Tranmere and Leyton Orient, so all the goal fests. At least I can watch the highlights with/after/before a beer or two tonight. 😁

Interesting to see 9 different scorers in our game, and 8 different scorers at Cheltenham too. 17 different scorers in just two games in the same division on one day can't have happened too often. This football lark is crazy, can see why hardly anyone goes to watch it... 😂

Obviously we all would have taken 3-6 before the game, slightly disappointed conceding the 2nd and 3rd, but at 1-6  I think the defence can be forgiven for taking their foot off the gas a bit.

He is a player learning his trade and the commentators said he was making runs all over the place and taking players with him.  When he gets his scoring boots on as well, he will be soon taken by a higher up team.

He’s got a bit more of his trade to learn yet though.  He played well today and on that showing is the leading candidate as the lone striker.  We can see he’s  got all the attributes, bar consistency, which should come with more games.

We don't need him to score goals though if he plays like that every week. His running, pressing the defence (without fouling which had been so annoying to watch) holding the ball,  making the right decision with a good pass to set-up others. He and Manny where the catalyst for our excellent display upfront.

Goodness Gracious.

A top attacking performance with Monty and Manny excelling. Extremely clinical and a performance to well and truly silence the moaners like myself. Rodney looked far more comfortable in the lone striker role and is probably the only forward we have capable of playing it, for all his faults. We looked up for it from the off, despite a few 'wobbly' periods.

Shows how bad things have become where, at 6-3, we all had a few worrying moments, and whilst it would have been nice to not ship 3, we've absolutely stuffed a side bang in form.

Football is a weird game. Best we've played by a country mile all season. UTV

Having witnessed  the 4-4 against QPR and Manny`s open goal chance  for a 7th goal  I began to wonder.

Brilliantly mental vale!

And well done John Askey... I really hope this is the turning point we need!

All though slagging off Rodney last week can I suggest being a little more balanced... the rollercoasters some of you put yourselves through are frightening!

Totally agree.  When he has learnt more tricks, when to use his power/speed and become more settled in front of the goal, he will be gone from Vale and hopefully for a good amount of money.  Shown he has the tricks and now needs to be more consistent which will come with game time.

Listening to Bolton channel and analyst at game said Vale were not an average but a poor one!!!

In the studio a caller said that Vale should have been four goals up in first ten minutes and at 1-6 he was seriously fearing a double figure defeat.

Highest number of goals conceded by Bolton at their stadium.

Still worry about games where we ran the game and still managed to throw good leads away.
