Completely folded, regardless of the Joyce sending off and the dubious penalty, we shouldn't be shipping 4 second half goals. We can blame the ref if we want, he certainly didn't help, but the truth is we got beat by a better side. We still aren't creating enough chances going forward, and its down to dodgy defending that we conceded 4 goals today, not Luke Joyce.

For me it was late and in the middle of his shin so not high. It was also one footed not two. Cast iron yellow for me. What made it worse was a few minutes later he didn’t give the trip on Pope in the build up to their first. Up there with the most inept refereeing performances I’ve ever seen!!

Today was a sickener. What a stupid comment to sack the manager, and the idiots who posted to agree with 1308.

The referee was poor - for both teams.

But I still think if we'd kept 11 men on the pitch we would have won that and we should have been able to have defended our lead - twice - even with ten men.

It's a bitterly disappointing result but if you concede 4 in one half you aint going to win anything, referee or not.

Joyce was to blame. There was no need to risk a tackle like that, in the middle of the park, when we're 2 up.

From my view i didnt see it as too high. Certain yellow no more. Joyce may have been slow but he has to make the tackle

Once again, we lose without Joyce on the pitch. He’s a more important player than some on here think. I’d appeal the red. 

Not much to say about that. 

The referee was a disgrace. Poor decision after poor decision. It was never a red. 

11 men on the pitch and we see the game out, it’s as simple as that. 

Absolute sickener to be quite honest.

 

 

5th red of Joyce's career

Today's match was a tough pill to swallow. 

Joyce red card obviously changed the game and now he's missing for three games which will be difficult to replace. Let's just pray Manny stays fit so Whitehead doesn't start.

Get a result Tuesday night against scunthorpe and we're right back in it.

To many silly mistakes again cost us goals but that's league 2 football. I love Legge but far to many mistakes lately 

That Ref was diabolical though. And should never ref a game again.

Dodgy defending? Two of their goals shouldn’t have been.

No joke and hate stoke with a passion. Another depressing outcome which some of you seem to come up with some g8 excuses (blame the ref etc ) please !!!!! 😂 when in reality we have a totally inept manager !!!!

Mate, you’ve made four posts since January and each one has been demanding Askey is sacked. I’d see a doctor about this obsession if I was you.

It's ok to disagree, it's about opinions.  My initial reaction, without replays, was that he may well walk.   

I'm not convinced that it was a tackle that he needed to make.  From my perspective he gave the ref  a decision to make unnecessarily.

Certainly not blaming Askey. Rodney for Pope i understand but even though he scored i dont think Rodney offers enough certainly when we need to hold the ball and defend.

Cant understand Manny up front though. Leave Rodney and his pace there. If Amoo has to come off then Montano on.

Overall we were just unlucky i guess, even with a rubbish ref, for both teams. Poor Clarke clearance for one. Smith not getting up to head clear. Crookes coming in to the ball and leaving his man free behind. Mistakes from players who gave there all and had decent games. They all must have been shattered

Tranmere are a good team. Not sure where he is from but Blackley Taylor is a player. He is what we are missing. On todays performance anyway.

Need 3 points Tuesday and then we will be looking good. Joyce out so will we change formation or who will come in as his replacement. Is Manny ready for 90 mins. That is the question
