Football prices, even at £10 a ticket for 4th division stuff isn’t an act of charity. That’s still a lot of money. £5 and lower wages for over payed 4th division players in many cases would be better.

But football is a competitive market, as long as some clubs are willing to pay above the going rate they will attract the better players, Paying below the going rate puts a club at a disadvantage. Very well run clubs can perform above their budget, Askey has a reputation for doing so, but the higher the league the more difficult it becomes.  As a reference my local 7th division team charges £10 admission, £100 ST, Southern League Premier Division, is that the standard you would be happy with?

Back on topic, the FA has a Footballer App, with all the rules on including social media behaviour. So info at their finger tips.  Clubs could have higher standards as they feel appropriate to their club. I assume our owners have more of a grasp of HR than our previous owners.

I totally agree with you Jean he need a quiet word from someone within the Club and I'm sure that he will mind his P's & Q's in the future. What we don't need is so many on here making this an excuse to crucify the man.

For me Saturday highlighted once again just how much we need him in the team

The problem is,OS, a number of people both at the club and elsewhere have spoken to him about this and he doesn’t appear to have a taken a blind bit of notice. He needs one of those electric cattle prods shoved up his nether regions every time he does it from now on. That might make him think twice!!

Some are enjoying tax payer paid pensions...'Im alright Jack springs to mind'. Suggest admission prices too much and 'The club isn't a charity'/ Just so happens she paid for her cheap season ticket months ago.

I refer to working age men and women who work in lower paid jobs...You are right...10 quid is enough but 22 quid is sheer greed...particularly for a bottom division standard of football.

I say the Shanahans need to bring admission prices down or the club cannot move forward with a bigger fan base. If they want to make the club a true community club then they need to make the club more inclusive because at the moment it only appeals to middle income supporters and that is why Vale struggle to get above 4,000 on a matchday

Pricing is what it is in this country, it is massively over priced for forth division football and you can watch top level Bundesliga football for less than most league two clubs charge.

That’s not Carol and Kevin at fault but the way it is over here, we do enjoy a much bigger depth of quality in England lower down the pyramid and support to match.

Wages are high and if Vale dropped pricing we would get left behind the other clubs financially and thus the team would suffer.

A couple of good offers a season which I’m sure will materialise later on is sensible.

In terms of the Xmas fixtures traditionally they are the better supported games so would make less sense to do an offer on tickets then as bigger numbers usually attend, a Tuesday night game or a late season weekend would make more sense especially later season if the game could be a six pointer like for instance the success with the Burton tie (which was a weeknight on the back of some really poor form but saw us pummel them 7-1)

I assume the Burton game was Paul Wildes brainchild which he was quite good at marketing wise but that was a huge success with how it was done with the 94 team there and the clappers etc.

Thinking about that time when 'Popey' slagged off Andy Carroll and said he should be laying for the paralympics team and hashtagged it 'cabbages'.

I think Popey has trouble differentiating "banter" and being an arse.

It's a pity you didn't take advantage of the tax payer funded education available.

Let's imagine the business is breaking even at £20 per ticket and the average gate is 4,000, reduce the price to £10 and you need 8,000 per game, £5 needs 16,000..... is that possible? After 10 years of failed management and performance?

Let's extend the theory..... Tesco should reduce the cost of its products by 50% because people can't afford them and use food banks instead..... tell stoke Audi they should reduce the price of a new car because you can't afford it and they would sell twice as many if they did.

From what I understand..... monies made by the club go back into the club.... almost a none profit organisation.... sounds good to me..... a damn site better than throwing money at it and going bankrupt..... I hope the cost of the purchase is being extracted..... but wait...... perhaps they should have asked for a 50% discount because they couldn't afford the asking price?

Pricing is a balancing act..... to expensive and people won't buy...... crap product and people won't buy

We could possibly increase that number if......

We had a selection of toilets and sinks to attract stoke fans....

Play an old Al Jolson song at half time may bring in some Crewe fans, it's a bit before my time but goes something like this, not sure of the words.

Climb upon my knee sonny boy

Though your only 3 sonny boy

You've  now way of knowing

I've got something growing

Or something like that, 1928ish I think.

You would get us all locked up if we sang that Geo.

You are never compelled to accept an offer...... not everyone would offer it or stick to it..... if you want a player who is under contract why would he move?

Let’s be honest here, Tom Pope would have to accept what is being offered as a footballer for a reduced wage in the lower leagues if there was a wage cap to ensure say £10 gate tickets.-

He wouldn’t earn his reduced wage which let’s say tickets are £10, could still comfortably be £1k per week, doing anything else.

I earn a very good salary but £20 plus for watching football is crippling for even me when you add on other expenses

From someone who possibly ( who knows ) may have future aspirations to be a coach or indeed manage Vale then Pope needs to reel himself in and grow up.

Social media is a platform for the keyboard warriors of which he is becoming one by retorting to idiotic taunts and replies
