Absolute ****-house decision. This could and should have been left until 11am tomorrow and see what the pitch was like.

 

Just been up to the club. There is still snow lying on the Hamil Road car park so the pitch will still have snow/slush on the covers. It has been much worse up the north end of the city by the looks of it.

But if the covers have been on, would that not have protected the ground against frost? Isn't that the whole point of covers?

 

I just don't see why the pitch inspection couldn't wait until tomorrow morning given that

 

a) the opposition are no more than 90 minutes away

b) the forecast isn't always right

c) there's still time to cover any exposed areas.

I find it even more strange and illogical that we have loaned-out Dior Angus again! I know they say he's untried, but he does score goals wherever he's been and the untried argument surely applies to a couple of the midfield loanees we've brought in yesterday. Illogical! But then again, how long is it since things have been done logically at Vale Park?

I'll bet tranmere had probably sold around 700 + tickets for tomorrow. No doubt now a lot of them will be after refunds as they can' t or won' t attend a night game. So vale ( or the dear leader .) Will lose a considerable amount of dosh. I'd send those bloody covers back., they are useless.

 

Someone earlier had posted that Tranmere had sold their allocation of over 1000 a few days ago.
