Really isn't that deep mate

But it is.

The Stoke U13 match was not only a chance for the club to show we have morals, respect for the history and concerns about the future but also an opportunity to stick it to the much maligned owner of the club.

Instead, 4000 or so Vale fans showed no moral fibre and did what they were told by said much maligned chairman.

The message sent out? Vale fans treated this as a Derby, Vale fans do whatever they are told to by the chairman, Vale fans support the eventual destruction of proper football as we know it today by legitimising the fixture against an U13 side. What will this season be remembered for? I'll tell you, national coverage of a match that we should've all had the fortitude to resist. 4000 Stoke fans smashing up the stadium when a handful of Vale fans are there would've been brilliant and showed them up for what they really are. But it was equal numbers on each side, legitimising the whole sordid episode.

The selfish who care little for the future of the club, the future of the game or the direction we are heading will (like you have) pass it off as no big deal. Fortunately, there are plenty like me, the gallant few, who will not forgive, forget or allow those who tarnished our name to simply disappear back into the shadows.

Vale fans did not treat it as a derby, it's quite clear that Stoke fans did however.

Vale fans turned up in numbers because they could not stand the thought of Stoke taking our ground. Stoke came to take the **** out of us by vastly outnumbering us and in their eyes beating our first team with their Under 23s. However it couldn't have gone any worse for them. I'd prefer the pride saved in those ***** trudging back to the south of the city with their tales between their legs than the pride lost in turning out for just one Under 23s game.
