Considering we started this match with seven players who weren't at the club last year (Brown, Legge, Rawlinson, Clarke, Joyce, Manny, Miller) and also used Quigley and Dodds as subs making it nine new players used out of fourteen on the day, then a solid defensive display and a 1 0 win is a cracking result.

It's two wins out of two at home in the league. It's a decent start. Last season we got to October with less points than we currently have after three games.

Absolutely CAV. Whose shot led to the goal? Worrall is just the next in line for the boo boys. Played alright today.

If I’m correct, it was also Miller who chased the ball down and put it into the box initially, then got himself into the box when it came back over, his touch, turn and shot were top drawer. It’s a shame it didn’t go in, really. I also thought it was an own goal.

Miller was unlucky with a couple of the offside decisions in the second half. The Lorne Street liner was yards off the pace a few times.

Really pleasing to see Legge doing the job he was brought in to do.

Also that we defended well throughout.

I doubt that we would have won that game last season.

Plenty scope for improvement, but keeping clean sheets is an excellent base to build from.

Excellent defensive display and good to see Legge play so well. His height was a plus yesterday. The team will need a few games to sort itself out but luckily we've picked up 6 points already which is a bonus. Pope deserves a special mention too, as the lad put himself all over the park in spite of his back spasm. Typical old fashioned captain's display .

Tom reminds me of the times when a player missing a game was either dead or dying - euphemistically speaking that is

Why were we lucky a win is a win and 3 points .why don’t you go back on the oatcake and criticise Gary Rowett as your team isn’t doing any better than Vale.

Just put him on the ignore list like many have already done then he can post his drivel and no one will see it.

I suppose at the end of the day 6 from 9 represents a good start, albeit two of those three games were at home where you're expected to win. But performances have been bang average on the whole at best. We deserved to beat Cambridge but 3-0 flattered us. We were shocking against an albeit decent Colchester side, defended like a bunch of numtpies against Lincoln and were also very luck to get 3 points today against what looked a pretty poor side. Kane hasn't kicked a ball in anger for us really yet which means Aspin doesn't like what he sees in training, and Quigley looks about as useful as a chocolate tea pot in front of goal. There's a reason he hasn't scored a goal in league football yet despite being 25. So outside of our best 11 we've got next to nothing which is extremely worrying as injuries and suspensions will always happen.

If you think the 3 - 0 win against Cambridge flattered us then I must question which direction you were facing, because it couldn't have been towards the pitch.

Pretty awful, however we won a game that 4 months ago we would of lost.

Not going to dissect the whole shebang but well done Aspo on removing Smith from the firing line.

Can I ask a reasonable question ?

I realise Colchester and Lincoln would of put people off but we have pretty much lost 800 to 1000 home fans after just one game. Why ?!!!!

4 months ago we did lose to Crawley at home lol
