What does the article say? I can't read a word.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed a fee had been agreed with an unnamed club for the 22 year-old today (July 2). The transfer will go ahead if Morias agrees personal terms.

Worrell, Hannatt, Angus, Daniels, Monty and Kanu can all play on the wing. When Barnett leaves we haven't got target man cover for Pope. Toure played on the wing at Macc but he's really a centreforward. There probably isn't much money left in the budget so he may well be a reasonable short-term gamble if someone has seen him play and he does ok.

Only 3 of them are wingers. No more square pegs in round holes!

JMW was a winger. Vincent was a winger. Playing strikers and CM there isn't the way to win games.

We need natural wingers - that should be sorted in the transfer market next.

That's one more natural winger than we had in the promotion season. Taylor played as fullback or winger, Birchall was a utility midfield player by then and Dodds played wide right quite often, particularly off the bench. Loft sometimes played wide.

Kanu has mainly played as a winger when he's come on for Peterborough. Monty has played more football on the wing as has Hannatt, although more as a wide midfield player.

We're a division 2 club so players are going to have to play in more than one position. When you have a squad of 24, with 3 ex youth team players it's really 21. You've got to have plenty of cover at centrehalf, centre midfield and for the strikers because that's the spine. Very few teams have 2 specialist leftbacks, rightback, rightwingers and leftwingers, it's just the economics.

Agree.

For all the posts stating what great signings we've made - and yes, it does seem that a number of them may be good acquisitions - I still have concerns, namely a) where the supply to Pope & Miller is going to come from and b) how many goals will come from the midfield.

Despite now having numerous midfielders in the squad how many of them are likely(/have the ability) to create chances or even chip in with a decent amount of goals themselves?.....cue another Dodds (mass)debate!?!

In fairness, he said chairman, not owner. So yeah, well done Big Tone.

Besides, I can't be bothered to discuss the merits or otherwise of the owner's input into this football club.

That was what derailed the last new signings thread.
