Liverpool were very lucky to get 3 points today against a decent Leicester side who were bang up for it. But you can't argue with 12 points out of 12, and I don't think Liverpool have got out of 2nd gear yet this season which can only bode well. Alisson's mistake was an absolute shocker - He needs to iron trying to dribble past players out of his game in the Premier League and quick.

There was a time when ‘keepers were expected to stop goals, not play like Frank Beckenbauer.

 

Whilst you would hope ‘keepers would be competent with their feet, do we really expect them to play an important part in open play ?

 

Was Clemence as good with his feet as Hanson for example, but what a ‘keeper he was !

 

This thing about “ball playing” goalkeepers is just the latest fad in football.

 

I suspect that Liverpool fans would much rather have a Grobelaar, Clemence or even a Tommy Lawrence than the recent drivel they have had between the sticks. Fans remember s fantastic save, not a sideways pass to the full back.

 

Foreign coaches have some new and innovative idea’s which enhance the British game. This idea that you can turn Paul Musselehite into Franco Baresi isn’t one of them.
