Popey's return??

Our poor form coincided with Popes injury. Maybe we shouldn't have held onto him for so long when he wasn't 100% and it wasn't working.

However a fit Tom Pope will be crucial this weekend IF he is back to full fitness. Hopefully this is the case, but if he's not 100% maybe start with him on the bench against Chesterfield.

I have to say Tom was a real hero yesterday to play the full 90 minutes having just recovered from his hernia operation. I'm sure that was never in the plan at kick off! I just hope he's ok to play some part at Crewe because their defence will struggle against his power and given the importance of the game and the atmosphere our fans will generate we need every weapon in our armoury to land a crucial victory.

So who told you this?

Smurf?

Do you trust who ever it is that told you?

1. If I told you I doubt you would know him?

2. Whats Smurf got to do with it? plus I have never met him.

3. It was a rumour, I never believe rumours until I have some proof. I just put it out there what I had heard. Take a chill pill Melv I like many Vale fans are delighted the Pontiff is back.

If he plays it will be another 'Battle Royale' between him and George Ray?

The last time they confronted each other Ray stated on Twitter that he had Popey in his pocket.

Popey will be up for it if he plays?

Must be the religious connection but that's the second memorable Pope performance on Good Friday following his superb hat trick against Cheltenham in the promotion season. He missed two chances that a sharper Pope would gobble up but aside from that he was magnificent. Linking play and harassing the life out of the Chesterfield defence and giving a lesson on how to play the role of an aggressive centre forward. His legend grows.
