Brexit again...

The dangers of a silly No Deal are even greater and were stressed by the British Medical Association.

It will cause disruption for a million patients receiving treatment for rare diseases as the UK would be excluded from the European Rare Disease Network.

It will delay diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients because the UK would have to source radioisotopes from outside the EURATOM.

Undoubtedly weaken the UK’s response to pandemics and increase the chances of diseases spreading as we lose partnerships with key EU bodies, like the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

There could be fewer doctors and other medical staff – at a time when there are already huge shortages – due to uncertainty over future immigration status and confusion around the mutual recognition of medical qualifications across the EU.

If Pope said he voted Leave, would your opinion change?

Paul, what will me giving you a law that I disagree with, prove?

You are literally doing what I just said, moving the goal posts so you can try and claim a victory that simply is not possible.

Wanting sovereignty is not the same as wanting to rewrite, repeal or keep individual eu laws. It's about having the ability to do it if we wish.

Regal, I'm not moving the goal posts at all, just trying to find out what you mean when you give one of the reasons to leave the EU as "Get our sovereignty back" which to me is a woolly reason, trying to get you to be more specific.

This should and could be sorted by the agreements we make with Europe.

This should and could be sorted by the agreements we make with Europe.

We can control our own diseases and not have to rely on other bureaucracies to do it. We have our own scientists and can work with universities and subsidise them directly to do so

Disease prevention need can potentially be reduced as leaving we see less immigrants bringing diseases in..people might not want to hear it but it's the truth!

As for cancer treatment...there is a lot of controversy over whether the cancer act stipulates that we cannot find a cure...don't know if it's true or not but why hasn't there been an active study into whether cannabis reduces cancer cells as there seems evidence to suggest it does...meanwhile scientists have revealed people with hayfever have reduced chances of getting cancer if not at all...the EU being a huge medical saviour why haven't they pursued these findings??

If the EU is such a 'champion' of climate change then why are thousands planting huge trees in the middle of central London in protest??

Perhaps the country's foremost heart surgeon who retired recently, Professor Westaby, believes that Brexit will pose a risk to our recruitment of heart surgeons. There was been a steep decline lately. Few people want to do it. In 2014 only 14% were UK graduates. Most are European and have trained abroad.

I quote, "Brexit is a risk to our whole profession."

Not the first thing that springs to mind over Brexit but a sobering thought.

I also heard a interview by the professor in which he stated his team consisted of many foreign nationals which he deeply regreted because they had moved from their native countrys to work in the Uk, thus depriving these countrys of skilled surgeons. He in fact wanted to train up more Uk nationals to work in the NHS. I just suppose it can be spun either way to suit an agenda
