Brexit again...

If there has to be a deal then it is possible that no deal is better than a bad deal.

I would prefer a politician to tell me what he/she thinks rather than what he/she thinks I want to hear or what the party wants to tell me.

I will not sell my vote for a one line promise.... more jobs.... more money to the NHS etc.

Politicians lie, it's the nature of the beast, it's the natural preamble to trying to gain power.

The best one ever was "British jobs for British workers" by the 'Pension Thief'.

No mate, the worst ever was watching the Devil's daughter, Thatcher, quote St. Francis of Assisi in 1979 as she was about to set out on the rape of the working class and wilfull destruction of British industry. The underclass of her making is still with us today, you can watch them on Jeremy Kyle.

(Don't read the Sun but it's a pro leave paper so makes sense to use it)

This whole thing is an absolute joke!

Great, we can reintroduce rationing and pretend it's the war all over again when we 'stood alone' against 'European tyranny' because the French are 'surrender monkeys' who just gave up and the Dutch and Belgians secretly sympathised with Nazi Germany.

I should be writing for the Sun myself!

That rag is as newsworthy as the Dandy, it's aimed at the simple.

He's either a bold faced liar, or unbelievably stupid. I'd rather believe the latter, but I suspect it's closer to the former. Continued reference to No Deal is Better than a Bad Deal just demonstrates he's more suited to run a village bake sale than any office of state. I'd rather have Noel Edmonds as PM.

Few more quotes from 5 years ago from the Telegraph below. Just for clarity, he is advocating:

- Dirty energy

- Leaving poorer nations to their own squalor - note 'emergency' in his acknowledgment of aid.

- Leaving the poor to fend for themselves

- Aligning with a party with an openly unsavoury racist element

What a man of the people...!

“Tony Blair adopted the accent of the audience he was speaking to, which worked very well initially, but then voters began to perceive him as phoney,” he says. “The 'man of the people’ act is the height of condescension.”

On wind turbines: “A waste of money. I want cheap energy for my constituents and I think we should look again at the Government’s commitment to emissions reductions, and whether this is the right burden to take on in an age of continued austerity, when rapidly growing economies aren’t making the same commitment.”

On international aid: “The Government has a duty to provide emergency aid, but I believe it’s the responsibility of individuals to make charitable donations, not for the state to take our taxes and then make donations on our behalf. The cliché 'trade, not aid’, is entirely accurate.”

On Labour: “The problem with socialism is that it’s always about the collective. The great virtue of Toryism is focusing on the individual.”

On Ukip: “Given the Tories agree with them on 90 per cent of policy issues, it seems sensible to come to some sort of arrangement.”

Excellent post, Godfather. Sums the bloke up and how anyone with less than a few million in the bank and an income in excess of £150k p.a. would agree with his policy thinking beggars belief.

The delightful Dominic Raab is similar. With a government containing people like this it's guaranteed Brexit will be the biggest disaster possible, even though it'll be a disaster by default. It's like throwing petrol on a fire.

Dianne Abbott may not be the sharpest tool in the box and has a dreadful public communication manner but at least she's a decent person who doesn't wish poverty and suffering on those less fortunate than herself. I'd rather have her handling Brexit than Mogg or Raab, deeply selfish exploiters of the highest order, they're morally wrong.

I wouldn’t bother Tone.Looks like it’s backslapping day with the socialist elite.

I’ll spell it out numbnuts. All those countries you and I have quoted are not in the EU.Do you not think we could expand on our terms and not under EU restrictions with those countries.

I'm still waiting for you to explain what EU restrictions they are within the context of this post, when literally in the post afterwards you accepted that an EU member state can export cars from China and have them manufactured there. Just like Dyson does, looking after himself!

No backslapping mate and I will stay away today just to please you. I'm just genuinely interested because I'm a Remainer - I want to try and understand why you voted out as in all fairness I respect the fact you have an opinion and express it on here.

Regardless as to if we agree or disagree, it's good to get different perspectives and particularly those from the people closest to home

Yesterday was the 78th Anniversary of the beginning of the 'Battle of Britain'.

What are we fighting for now?

I don't know. Farage appears at rallies for the AfD party in Germany these days, the sort of people we were fighting against in WW2.

'Socialist elite' !🤣🤣🤣 That is a classic coming from people who support the policies of the far right, class ridden elitists like Rees Mogg, Raab and their ilk.

Think about it.

You were referring to people as underclass ,sourcey, you naughty little closet Tory.

You were doing well until you mentioned the twisted sister Abbott.... the further away from politics she is the better the Labour party appears.
