How many teams drop out of premier league then struggle to stay n championship like Sunderland.With Lambert as Manager he couldn't get Wolves back up.I can see them dropping to Div1 if they go down.

 

He did a good job at Wolves. They were struggling when hetook over from Zenga when there was a chance of them going down, he steered them to mid table. It’s only this season when they’ve spent big money that they’ve looked like a top team.

The question is how much Stoke can spend?

They spent 18m on Wimmer and 6m on Bauer but I don't think Denise Coates will give them much money from her Bet365 empire.

Most of the money given to Stoke so far can be written off against tax.

They will be shopping in Poundland which doesn't work in the Premier league.

Even Daniel Sturridge is being quoted at 30m which considering his injury record is crazy.

Expect some last minute panic buys from Lambert as he is quickly running out of time.

Also, the Stokinel report that Lambert is about to sign a Greek lad called Stafylidis from Augsburg who's a left back. Looks like the end of the line for their version of Craig James then, Erik 'the half a bee' Pieters. Pity really, you can always rely on him to get skinned or, when going forward, boot the ball aimlessly behind for a goal kick.

Is that really true? He's hardly kicked a ball this season and has played almost all his career games in the Championship. He was touted for a loan move to Reading by Sky yesterday.

I know Stoke need to get someone other than Crouch who can score, especially as Berahinogoals couldn't hit Boris' Big Bus of Lies with a blunderbuss from 10 yards, but if they're serious about staying up they'll need someone less of a risk than a 29 year old who did well for Lambert in the Championship at Norwich.

Maybe they're preparing for next season in the Championship?

 

 

A season in the Championship might do them good, before relegation to League One.😂

Tony,I read the half time report on the BBC site.Very complementary to both teams.Not.P and G last night was cringeworthy to the power of ten.I presume it’s been the same again tonight?

I noticed the unwashed from, the Stoke Incinerator, had won the league, FACup and Champions league after that result v the mighty Huddersfield
