Regis came on at Newport and looked sharp. Why he has been dropped from the bench is beyond me, would rather see him playing than Pugh or Kay.

 

You seriously think that based on a fair show as sub and a half-paced Chekatrade game he should be selected before Kay, who has been one of the better players and really improved massively recently ? Look how he was missed against Mansfield !

 

Aspin will have a bit more sense at look at Kay's record and Regis's lack of games at first team level, I am sure.

One of our better players....really? Lacks pace, not particularly good at distribution and alongside Pugh just allows opponents to walk right through our midfield. We have been poor in midfield this season and Kay is at much at fault as anyone, simply not good enough.

Yes really. He isn't a pace player, nor are many in our club, but he has been more than steady in midfield where it needs someone like him.

But as I have said many times, it doesn't matter what you or I think (although I sense you dislike him for other reasons and aren't interested in how ell he actually plays) - but what the manager thinks.

The manager has praised him quite a lot lately, and he will be back in the side for Lincoln. Plenty good enough.

According to Aspo "Regis is unavailable for selection at the moment".

 

If he's unavailable for selection, then it's either because (i) he's injured (clearly not the case); (ii) he's not properly registered to play; or (iii) there are some other extenuating circumstances, perhaps personal, why he can't play.

 

Of all these (ii) is clearly the most worrying because the penalties are quite severe - possible loss of 3 points and/or other punishment at the discretion of the EFL. See the EFL rule here:

Though he played in the reserves, Vale may not have discovered his registration hadn't gone through until after the game. So if it's (ii) it's clearly worrying given our current position - the last thing we need is to have 3 points docked for a technicality. We'll just have to wait and see.
