No it's supposedly Aspin. Whatever this weekends antics are all about god alone knows but I still expect Aspin to be manager by the weekend.

 

I did,i dont now,i think the leaks about him being manager put that on the back burner....as i said my money would go on Garlicks fave Horton now

Well you wouldn’t put it past him. But I really think this is an elaborate game to stave off being caught for illegal tapping up of an und r contract manager.

I think there are a fair few fans, myself included, who just don't see the attraction of Aspin other than his obvious connections with the club. If he hadn't played for us nobody would have even mentioned his name. Bringing Aspin in simply to appease sentimental fans could be a recipe for disaster.

Forgot to include Horton in my manager stats earlier on:

 

G 1,098 W 367 win ratio 33.4%

 

It's interesting to note that his win ratio has never been above 40% - best was 39.5% in 1984-88 at his first club Hull. Since then it's declined and he hasn't managed since April 2012, a bit like Ince. Plenty of experience but a big risk in my view.

 

Personally, I'd favour Martin Allen who has one of the most consistent records as a manager but I don't think we have a prayer.

And that's all it is isn't it? Bookies respond to betting by changing the odds. It doesn't necessarily mean that someone has 'inside information'. Most bookies wouldn't know where Port Vale is and don't have to - they just have to make money from the market.

No one has mentioned it yet but Brian Little was interviewed last week.

 

I'd prefer Burge than him but wouldn't put it past Norman having him as one of the "outstanding" candidates.
