Yes - problem is we have no news so we end up debating the past!

 

I believe 2/3 players will lift us to a similar finish as last season. Creative Mid and a Striker. If we loose a centre back or GK we will need to replace those too.

 

Youngsters need to get out on loan, deadwood needs shipping out. We should be able to loose 10 players from the squad without any implications to make way for 3 quality signings.

Really? We've just accepted a bid of 20k for Ryan Lloyd, who's also out of contract at the end of the season. IMO has to be 100k minimum, otherwise there's more value in us keeping him for the rest of the season. If any club wants him, they'll pay - he'll get a number of offers once free and risk losing him.

Aren't the suggestions about looking for non-league players a bit wide of the mark? Obviously we'd all hope the club are keeping an eye out for promising youngsters (what age did I start using that word?) but Plan B revolves around bringing in experienced players? More Neil Collins than Greg Luer?

I can't think of anyone! Bigger Championship teams seem to have plenty of young players but there's a real dearth of non-playing experience knocking around, particularly with the Chinese offering big money deals to players who may have once considered dropping a league.

Which is exactly why we should keep Ryan Lloyd and give him a try, we have him already and he is match fit. He may not be brilliant but he is better than over half our squad I would think.

af1985, I don't know Jacko51, I haven't met Jacko51. Jacko51 is one of the best and fairest posters on OVF, always rational and provides explanations, only severe provocation would result in a post like the one you quote.
